the international library of poetry. is becoming a pain in the backside, and they keep trying to rip me off
*Consumer Comment: WELL-KNOWN PUBLISHINIG SCAM
*0: It was described as being beautifully bound and all this great B.S.!
I also believe that this company is a rip-off, they so far in the past year have sent me over 10 different letters of this to purchase for the poems that i have entered. and since i have submitted my poems.
They have changed the name of the book 5 times. the last letter they wrote said the book is expected to be shipped in September 18, 2001, allow 4-6 weeks for arrival, but i looked at my poems online, it says the name of the book is different and is expected to ship in december 2002.
I have found no way to contact them, either by phone or by mail. they are scammers of the highest regard, and I WANT MY MONEY BACK. HELP HELP HELP, THANKS

Problem is, you sent your money in and you got something for it. Legally that is how they get around the FRAUD.
These people have been overcharging and performing less than people expected for years.
My advice to you is if you want to publish poetry --go to a "vanity press" or a "self publishing outlet" as they prefer to call themselves these days.
I don't remember much of a market for poetry since the Beatnik years.
You will pay a lot to publish your own book but it will be done to your specifications.
Just remember that the job of selling and distributing your books is up to you --not to them.
.
Beware of those who promise to pay your royalties because they aren't in business to sell and promote your book. THEY JUST PRINT THEM.

I also got burned by the international library of poetry. I did get the book, which I paid like $60 bucks for. It was described as being beautifully bound and all this great B.S.!
It was the worst attempt at publishing I have ever seen, all of the poems are in a small font and each page has poems crammed together. The binding and cover could have been purchased at a second hand store. It was just CHEEZY! All along I am thinking I got ripped off!! But now I know, and the same goes for the international photography library or something similar, who is now trying to get me to order a book in which one of my photos will be in.
The sad thing is poetry and photography are an art, something to get pleasure and perspective from. This will not be achieved in these books =o(
