Needed info who I might contact for funding for home improvements on my 45 year old home. I live in Hawaii.

Sent list of 21 foundations to contact - all in Indiana. All said NO of course. Advised AG agencies. I live in the city. One said i have to live in Hilo, Hawaii.  WRONG ISLAND!! I live on Maui. Another name doesn't do home improvements. Another one was in Ohio. Who did this research??

When I questioned them, they got upset. After I went round & round with them & got nowhere  I asked for a refund. Then all communication stopped. They said NO.  Mel told me to check the internet.

Mel Feller is supposed to be an expert on these matters. He couldn't give me one name of anyone who he knew of who had given a home improvement grant to someone.

I think he is rude & wouldn't advise anyone to do business with him. I'm76 now and this makes me really angry.

Don't call me a liar when you don't  even know me, or what actions I was taking here while I was waiting
for your help. I was checking Government sources in Hawaii. Even called the offices of my representatives
in Washington,D.C. Also anyone else I thought could help. I'm 76; but not stupid.

LIHEAP can only be applied for in the month of June. Maui Electric notifies us about it with our electric bill.
I had already applied in June. I have been using it for years; so you weren't telling me something I didn't know about.

We are very energy conscious.  Unplug anything that isn'being used. Turn lights off. Use special bulbs.Only
use water heater when necessary. Watch water usage also.
Suggest you don't do business with folks in Hawaii.  We are a different people located in a special place.!!

If you still want to help MAHALO NUI LOA (thank you very much).   OTHERWISE   Alo    HA.

Have  a nice day.  Watch out for the GODS!!!!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

Granny 75 Did Not Tell The Truth

AUTHOR: Coaching director - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 02, 2012

I am the owner of coaching for success.  First the person is really Selma Aipa in Kahului Hi.  96732.  She has never paid coaching for success directly for her services.  She was moved to my company on October 4 2011.  When she says that she bought from my company I would like to see a receipt that she paid for services from my company.  She bought the program through another company and she was moved to my company since that company went out of business.  She had bought and paid through a Marketing Company.  She paid for 10 sessions.  Up to date my company can prove she had 24 plus coaching sessions.  Many of her calls were recorded and in fact this woman received a grant.

At the end of the program she asked for a refund because she was looking for more grants without doing the work.  Here is part of the email that was sent to her in regards to the refund.  It was and has never been disputed by her.  It also started with the fact that the marketing company she had paid went out of business.

"A refund was mentiond by the marketing company you purchased through however, it was based on if we did not find you anything that you could not apply for.  However we did.  You got the LEAP grant.  I have explained how this works and there are the 3 ways to get funding.  We need to keep searching.  We have and will keep working with you based on the service warranty."  So we are and will still assist her!

I do not condone someone not telling the truth.  She received a grant and tries to use her age as a way to keep collecting more and more money from any source.  Please Selma Aipa tell the WHOLE TRUTH!!

In addition when she claims that grants were not appropirate for her and her area where she resides, agan a major untruth.  Here are some of the examples of grants or sources that were sent to her.  No where do I see that these funders are not in Hawaii.

Funding Source:          State of Hawaii
Funding Title:             Weatherization Assistance Program
Funding Deadline:      Contact Agency

Funding Description:
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables low-income households to reduce their energy costs by making their homes more energy efficient. During the past 33 years, WAP has provided weatherization services to more than 6.4 million low-income households. Families receiving weatherization services see their annual energy bills reduced by an average of about $437, depending on fuel prices. Increasingly, weatherization service providers look at the house as a complete system under the concept of "whole-house weatherization."

Weatherization providers have begun to look at combining resources to address the needs of their clients. This expanded approach is referred to as weatherization plus. Benefits include, but are not limited to, reducing our nations energy dependency, protecting the environment, and stimulating economic development in low-income communities.

Funding Range:
(if available) Types of Work to Be Done Due to Hawaiis unique climate and housing stock, these are all base load measures, which are effective in reducing the current utility loads of each client. Currently, there are six approved weatherization measures comprising Hawaii's whole house weatherization strategy, and to be installed in descending order of cost effectiveness:

1. Low flow shower heads and faucet aerators
2. Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL)
3. Replacing Room Air Conditioner with Energy Efficient Models
4. Electric Water Heater Replacements/Modifications (implementing solar water heaters, hybrid heat pumps or water heater timers)
5. Replacing Refrigerators with Energy Efficient Models
6. Propane-fueled Water Heater Replacement (implementing solar water heaters, hybrid heat pumps and water heater timers).

Priority is given to identifying and providing weatherization assistance to elderly persons, persons with disabilities, families with children, high residential energy users, and households with a high energy burden.
