I traded in my car and I brought a copy of my credit report showing how high my score is, they said that they didnt use the fico scoring, they used the beacon scoring and that my score was much lower with beacon , and I would have to pay a higer rate. They quoted me 439 dollars monthly on a 16k car.

I have some finance experience and knew the payment should be no higher than 350 and said I was leaving. Then they lowered it to 350. They only had one finance agent available and we had to wait until 1 a.m. to meet with him.We took the new car home and were going to return the next day to get the trade in to have a stereo swapped out.

When I got there they told me they had moved it to another lot because they were having a problem with employee theft. So I drove to the other lot and picked up the car.

on the way home I got on the east west expressway and I realized I had moved my epass to the other car. I went to get some change to pay and realized that all of the change and money in my car had been stolen, and I got a ticket for going through a toll without paying. I then noticed that all of my cd,s and several other items had been stolen.

I returned and informed the salesperson and he said they would take care of it, but he had to talk to his boss. He came back and said that they decided to do nothing and that there was no problem with employee theft. I reminded him that they said they had moved the car because of employee theft problems, and they denied this. then they proceded to accuse me of taking the roof rack off of the trade in, I showed them pictures I had taken the day we traded it in proving there was never a roof rack. These people were nasty and I will NEVER STEP ANOTHER FOOT IN THIS STORE.

WARNING. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE THEIVES!

i agree with gene

AUTHOR: JLF2032 - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 15, 2009

I agree with you on most points gene. the way they handled the sale seems ridiculous. being a former employee myself I have seen my fair share of B.S. at that dealership. similar to what you are talking about here.there are only a couple things you shouldn't complain about

A. your first mistake was bringing your own credit report. it doesn't matter, they still have to run their own. the banks make that rule, they have no choice.
B. as for complaining about being there till 1:00 am. what time did you get there? because depending on the time and day that you arrive, it is not unusual for someone to be there that late. especially when on slow  days they let the finance team leave early and only keep one person in the finance office.

as for your car being moved to another lot when you came back to get the stereo and all of your stuff. well it was most likely a lack of communication between the used car manager who leaves at 10 pm and the sales staff who sold you the car. the used car manager most likely didn't know it was supposed to stay. which is really the fault of the sales manager who did the paperwork for you. he should have stayed on top of it and made sure nothing happened. all of that should have been handled more professionally

toyota of orlando is a bit of a joke. the way they opperate and the way they treat their employees is ridiculous.

this post is full of LULz. if you sat there and waited until 1a.m. to get the paperwork done, YOU HAD ALL THE TIME before that to get YOUR items out of the car and hell even your stereo. this is your fault. and the ex-employee is right, you SIGNED AWAY your car. thus it does not belong to you anymore. you fail sir

THERE ARE Toyota vehicles whose AIRBAGS ARE NOT DEPLOYING when they are in accidents, according to their owners.

NOT SO FAST

AUTHOR: Gene - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 15, 2009

This is in repsonse to the ex employee who was defending Toyota of Orlando.....You forgot a few things......You assumed that the term of the loan was adjusted, but your assumption was incorrect. We were forced to wait until 1 a.m. and left the car because we had to come back the next day to swap out the stereo...we left our things in the car because it was late and the sales manager suggested we take the new car home and empty out our car the next day. Whether I owned the car or not......moving it and not reimbursing me for stolen items while they were in their care is horrendous. They knew I was coming the next day and moved the car accross town....care to defend that pal???? They denied saying they had a problem with employee theft.....care to defend that???? They accused me of stealing a roof rack that never existed...care to defend that??? I get the feeling you still work for these thieves.....nice try though....STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA OF ORLANDO.....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Things are not always what they appear to be

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 03, 2009

First I would like to state I am a former employee of Toyota of Orlando. However, it is not that which drives my response. I believe this gentleman is unrightly mad and for the wrong reasons.

Lets start with the credit report. Beacon is what all car dealers use. Everyone has the ability to find this out by doing a little research. www.kbb.com is a great resourse. Remember you have a duty to your self to do your own research. If you go into a car dealership where you know they not giving cars away, you have to expect that they will want the most for the least given.

This gentleman's angry response to the payment discrepancy is typical. But here is a secrete to buying a car. your monthly payment can be manipulated greatly by 3 factors. Term, Price, and Financing. To focus on the payment amount and not the price first is folly. You have to negociate price first. Get them down to the lowest you feel they will allow. At Toyota of Orlando, they don't budge so much on price. They list the price on the windows and that is pretty much it. They are up front about what you pay. unlike other dealerships that expect every purchase to be negociated and it is more dependant on the customer and their negociating ability to find their best price. Now what Toyota of Orlando did to this gentleman's payment is simply extend the term of the loan from probably 3 years to 7 years. So yes you got a lower car payment but you end up paying more for the car. Longer term = more interest.

I have worked for 2 Toyota Dealerships. Both experiences as an employee were good from the Toyota Corporate side, bad from the Dealership side. Toyota has a customer statisfaction quota for all dealerships. If that quota is not met, heads roll. Best and most effective way to deal with bad conduct from a dealership is to turn in that customer survey you get in the mail. Toyota takes those surveys so serious they will withhold commissions for sales because of a bad survey. Its extremely important to a dealership. Can't speak for other manufacterors, only toyota.

As to the gentleman's stolen items. When you signed the paperwork and left the car at the lot, you no longer owned the car. you should have taken all your belongings. That car at that point belonged to the dealership. They could have left it outside the gate unsecured for all it mattered to you. Normally they keep the trade ins secured with a guard patroling the lot. but you can not expect anything when technically the car wasn't yours.

I hope this post provides some insight to others who my in the future decide to buy a car from dealers. They are only considered Aholes because you allow them to be. If you don't do your due dillegence and prepare yourself then Sorry for you.
they have every right to sell you a car for more than MSRP if you don't care enough to know what the norms are.

Arnold Ziffel Should Be Toyota's CEO

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 16, 2007

Just for fun, go to Charlene's Post that was ORIGINALLY submitted on 7-16-2007 which says: Toyota Motor Corporation, U.S.A. Manipulation of Toyota Engine Sludge... and read the Update & Rebuttal entitled 'SUGGESTION' that was also submitted on 7-16-2007. (the Dow Jones was at 13,800 that day and a few days later it hit 14,000). Pay close attention to the sentence which reads- 'And watch how the Dow Jones adjusts too.'

Has anybody watched?? You see, Arnold Ziffel (the deceased PIG from the T.V. Show 'Green Acres' was smarter than most people, even CEO's!!) This proves something: Do Not Listen To ANYONE if you want to find the TRUTH!! Simply notice what IS HAPPENING and you can project, and find the TRUTH!! It's that simple.

So, a war in Iraq (draining our country), millions losing their homes due to 'CREATIVE' financing, Markets all over the world in concern, negative equity situations for millions more because home prices ARE coming down, Healthcare Collapsing, Prescription Drugs turning people into zombies and destroying lives, innocent people being scammed in EVERY industry, Identification theft, and many, many, other things and to top it off, you need a Lawyer, an Accountant, and a Hidden Camera to make sure you aren't SCAMMED when you go in to a TOYOTA DEALERSHIP and the CEO of TOYOTA KNOWS THIS!!!

Open up your eyes Americans. Don't rely on ANYONE to tell you the TRUTH. You've got to find it on your own.

Why did you not leave when the FICO vs. Beacon and $439/mo vs. $350/mo issues started?

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 16, 2007

Surely there are other 'reasonably close' Toyota dealers you can patronize?

I request written quotes from a dealership GM before I ever visit, and I pay cash. Toy dealers, nor any other brand's dealers, then do not fool with me, and I spend no time with their "F&I guy". I am upfront about it: Keep this simple and skip the games, or I leave.

Most car dealers are smart enough to know when they should settle for a few slices off of the loaf once I have made it clear there is no way they are going to get the entire bakery.

Maybe you should save enough money or have solid bank financing for your "next time", and then you can be a no-nonsense-accepted all-cash-buyer with a written quote who 'needs nothing' from the dealer. But the dealer WILL STILL need you.... a dealer cannot be a dealer if he/she does not sell cars. Just slow yourself down and do not be all hot & bothered to get that shiney new car.........
