On April 9th 2011, I purchased a new 2011 Toyota Camry from Toyota of Lewisville in Lewisville, TX. After hours of negotiations, I signed a contract next to my parents to finance this new car for a period of 60 months with Toyota Financial Credit Services. I left exhausted with my new vehicle that day.

A month later I receive my monthly statement from Toyota Credit Services and it says that I signed my contract for 72 months, instead of 60. I first thought that it was a simple human error. I called them and told them that I didn't sign a contract for 72 months, but 60 months. They made me aware that they had a copy of my contract for a 72 month lease that had my signature on it.

I was instantly livid. I asked for a copy of it that I received in the mail. I glanced it over, and I instantly knew that someone had forged my signature on a different contract for a longer period of time, which meant paying an extra $4,500 than what I had originally signed for. They told me I had to take it up with the dealership.

I went the next day to see Alex, the financial advisor that was helping us with all the paper work. I showed him the contract that had my forged signature on it, and all he said was that he didn't know where that came from. I was furious. He assured me that I had a contract for 60 months, and that he would get I fixed.

I was so distraught that all I could do was ball my eyes out. I was shaking, and I just stormed out of the office already planning to file a lawsuit.

Two weeks later, I received a phone call from Alex from the dealership and two check stubs in the mail. He told me that they had refunded the amount of the difference of the 2 contracts and those check stubs that I received in the mail were proof. I added up both amounts and they were only $300 shy of the amount of the two contracts. I believed him..big mistake!

Later, I found out that Alex, I presume, forged my signature a second time. He forged my signature a second time on a cancellation form in order to cancel my insurance policies, like GAAP, life insurance, and an extended warranty on the car to get me the money refunded in my account that he said was to fix the difference between the 60 month contract and the 72 month contract.

I got ripped off twice. I want everyone to know what they did to me. PLEASE, do not shop at Toyota of Lewisville they are frauds and thieves. They took advantage of me, a college educated woman, and they will take advantage of you too. I am sure I am not the only person that this has happened to, and it won't be the last. A warning to all!! I would think that most people will not notice this has happened to them because they keep the payment amounts the same, but add on the months that you will be paying this vehicle.

Again, this can happen to anyone. Do not shop at Toyota of Lewisville! I currently have a lawsuit pending, and they know they did something wrong and they are offering money of course, but no amount of money will ever make me forgive or forget how bad they screwed me over, even after I did all the right things by reason my contract, and takin witnesses.

You might want to 'Google' this- THE NEXT HOUSING SHOCK, and watch that 60 Minutes segment on the web to see how business was, and still is, conducted in America. Buying a car and buying a house in the USA are very similar, because both purchases require financing from a lender, right?

A 'house' and an 'automobile' are the two BIGGEST purchases that most Americans make in their lifetime. Both purchases are transacted by having customers sign contracts for financing, right? Most Americans don't have the cash on hand to pay for a house or a car in full, so they enter into a finance agreement.

How many people have the money, and the time, to fight a large bank or a large corporation in the courts if there was fraud involved in the purchase by the seller? If someone signs a contract to buy a car or a house, and then a totally new set of documents are made up and sent in for financing, it becomes a nightmare for most consumers to prove their case. Hiring a lawyer is not cheap.

It is a fact that forgery was taking place in the mortgage business in this country over the past several years. It is a fact that forgery was, and still is, taking place in the car business. Remember, the car dealers will not target the people who they believe are educated buyers. They will target the ones who are the most vulnerable, like Hispanics, African Americans, & Women.

If business in America was conducted in an honest way, we WOULDN'T have had a 'Meltdown' in our banking system. Our entire system is corrupt! That's why there are so many financial/bank problems in the USA and all over the world.

***If Leslie had a set of documents from the dealer showing that she purchased the car, but Toyota Corporation received a different set of documents showing it was a lease, then Leslie would have to PROVE it!

Leslie obviously knew what to do. She 'exposed' her problem and took action. Some people don't know how to do what she did, or they are afraid to do what Leslie did. And consider this, who do you believe that Toyota Corporation will ultimately protect? The customer or the dealership that is selling hundreds, and even thousands of vehicles each year.

One last thing, make sure to 'Google' this- TOYOTA'S WHISTLE BLOWER- VIDEO- BUSINESS NEWS, and listen to what a former lawyer who worked for Toyota Corporation had to say about Toyota. In my opinion, Toyota Corporation is no different than Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, & the rest of the 'Wall Street Gang'.

P.S. Toyota's stock has lost over 50% of its value since 2007 when it was trading as high as $138 a share.

I wonder why?

Happy Holidays!

Much more profit for the dealership and a BIGGER commission for the salesperson and the finance manager would be gained by forging  a customer's signature on a new set of contracts, making it a lease, and then submitting it to TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Corporation).

Example: If a customer agrees on a payment of $429 per month on a car that they believe is a purchase, but the finance manager makes up a totally new contract and forges the customer's signature, making it a lease, and submits it to TMCC and it has an identical payment of $429 per month, then the Toyota dealership would make a much BIGGER profit, and at the same time, the finance manager and the salesperson would receive a BIGGER commission.

Some Toyota dealers will target minorities, who are not as 'savvy' as say and educated person like yourself, and since the payment is the same payment that the customer agreed to, then there will not be any dispute, UNTIL Toyota makes the phone call to the customer telling them that the car needs to be returned, because it was a LEASE!

Keep coming to this website and type in- TOYOTA. It's possible that copies of subpoenaed evidence will be uploaded someday showing how all of this was done at a Toyota dealership in order to defraud a Hispanic customer who believed he was buying a Camry, but was tricked into a lease, okay?

Feel free to 'Google' this- CAR SALES: TRICKS OF THE TRADE- CONSUMER ALERT, and watch how that particular finance manager operated when Tori was purchasing a car at a Ford dealership, which is owned and operated by the third largest publicly held Automotive Dealer Group in the USA. Sonic Automotive owns and operates around 150 dealerships nationwide.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Oh pillar of enlightenment.

I'm going against my better judgement in replying to Karl, but curiosity has got the best of me.

"5) Finance person forges customer's signature on an entirely new set of contracts, which is a lease.  "

But the customer has a signed purchase contract in hand.   How could that possibly work?   What can be gained by forging a lease when the buyer is in possesion of a signed purchase contract?

Your analysis does not make any sense.

Allow me to enlighten you as to how some people who are employed at Toyota dealerships in the USA will operate when selling a vehicle.

I will walk you through it in a simple step-by-step system:

1) Customer comes into dealership to buy a car.
2) Customer agrees to a monthly payment for the car.
3) Customer signs paperwork and contract.
4) Customer leaves with car.
5) Finance person forges customer's signature on an entirely new set of contracts, which is a lease.
6) Forged contract is sent to TMCC (Toyota Motor Credit Corp.) for funding.
7) Finance person gets paid his or her commission, and possibly leaves dealership for another job.
8) Customer receives first payment from Toyota about 30 to 45 days after the sale date and realizes it is a lease.

Guess what?

Toyota Corporation KNOWS that this has been going on for years! Toyota dealers will specifically target HISPANICS, AFRICAN AMERICANS, and WOMEN.

If you walk out of a Toyota dealership and you signed a purchase agreement, and then someone at the Toyota dealership sends in a lease agreement with forged signatures on the paperwork, you will not know until you receive the first payment, right?

And if the payment for the lease is the SAME payment that you agreed to on the purchase agreement, you might not know until the 60th payment is made, because you assumed that it was a purchase, correct?

As A College Graduate...

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 13, 2011

As a college graduate you said you "PURCHASED" this car and it was a 72 month lease.

Please tell us...

1.  What did you "PURCHASE"?

2.  As a result of doing business with that car dealer, what do you now "OWN"?

3.  The car you left with...who "OWNS" it?

I am reminded of a college graduate female I had a conversation with a few years ago.  I told her I was in Santa Fe, New Mexico when we were talking on the phone.  Her next question was, "How long do you think you'll be out of the country?".

Please let us know how the issue was resolved.

P.S. If you do not respond, it will be assumed by myself and possibly some others, that the Toyota dealership paid you a certain amount of "money" for what happened, and they most likely had you sign an agreement that you would not disclose the information in regards to the resolution of the issue at this site or any other sites.

Thank You

Toyota of Lewisville Rene Isip's Toyota of Lewisville Fraud and Forgery in purchasing a new vehicle

Sorry Susan

I think you missed the point on this one.

Based on what the OP wrote, they signed a loan agreement for x amount for 60 months, and it got changed to the same x amount for 72 months.  The only way the OP could pay off this 72 month loan in 60 months is to pay more than they agreed to every month.  Based on the numbers the OP did give they would have to add around $75 a month every month to accomplish that.  But again remember that is not what they agreed to.

When caught the dealer "fixed" it by cancelling the insurance and sending the OP the difference.

If the OP has given the entire story, they should take the agreement they had on the 9th and go to the dealer telling them to either fix it or they will pursue criminal charges.  If that doesn't work there is always the Civil courts.

I have never bought a new car but I wonder, are the loans that much different than any other loan?

Have you done the math?  Maybe paying the 72 month loan as if it was the 60 month loan you wanted would be better?
