Vanderbilt bought out Chase Mortage and took over thier accounts. In the process they added $395.00 to our account and contacted us to say it was past due. I told them we had actualy paid in advance.

They also asked us to send a fax of the payments to Chase which we did. We had talked to Chase and Vanderbilt personal on the phone several times and we had seemed to have this resolved. Even the Vanderbilt personal said that they had accounts messed up and were trying to get up to date information fron Chase.

Well today I got another phone call from Vanderbilt. This was a person with a real attitude. She told me I had 30 days to pay 395.00 or she would start the forclosure on the account. I asked her where the 395.00 came from. She said that is the information that she got on the account. I asked her to send me proof of these figures. She said no she could not.

Now you would think that if Chase had not recieved thier payments they would have stated so. In fact we have the statment showing were the payments were made and even faxed this over to Vanderbilt. We can not get an answer from Chase, and the people at Vanderbilt are dead set on collecting money that they are not due. The people at Vanderbilt said that I had to show every payment for the last 5 years.

We do not keep bank statments that long. This $395.00 is a not that large of an amount, but if Vanderbilt does this sort of thing to a lot of the accounts they take over they tend to make a large profit. As soon as I can I will get this account away from Vanderbilt. Even if I have to sell the farm!
