I wanted to purchase the extended offer from their infomercial which they said would be 19.99 plus 6.75 shipping and handling. I was charged $264.15. I didn't know to laugh or WHAT. This is how it happened .. I did call the customer service department for them to correct the error and they said they couldn't do anything because the hangers were already mailed. What a JOKE! They told me when I called earlier and they couldn't see my order in the system .. that my account wont be charged until my order shipped and it would take 4-6 weeks for me to get the order! I called the next day and they said that my order has been shipped! I asked what my order total was exactly because their automated system did not give me a total. He said $264.15. That's when I actually laughed. Well I said it is obvious that there has been some type of error and to go ahead and fix it because I do not plan to pay 200 bucks for hangers. He said he can't because it has shipped and I said how can u say that when just yesterday you could not even see my order in your system. He said that they have it in stock and it shipped immediately. And he said I should receive my order within 4-6 weeks. Ok.. how does an order that just shipped take 4-6 weeks to get to me?? I am assuming they come from out of the country. I told them that I actually wanted the product I just needed them to fix their "little" charge error. Of course they said they could not do that. To wait until my items came in and to send it back (4-6 weeks) and even then they would only refund me partial amount. I just can't believe they are allowed to do stuff like this.

The $264 charge was in pending for the full 4 days and now another 4 days to get my money back. I have disputed this charges and my bank is going to put back the money within 3-4 business days. That's a total of 8 days without $200 bucks. I need that for bills, gas, groceries.. you name it. This is absolutely a scam for sure. Within the few people that have gotten this item.. there are TONS of people that have been scammed out of their money. They do this to a lot of people and they get away with millions of dollars in stolen money. They have a little scam going here. Another money scheme thought up by some low character schmuck.

On one of the websites I read of a satisfied customer saying that she is happy with her wonder hangers and paid 25 bucks for them and that all these people that complain you can't make them happy anyway. Are you serious? LOL. She wouldn't be skipping the meadows if she was charged $264 dollars for $25 dollar hangers either. I wish people just spoke about their own experiences and left others alone. There are hundreds of the same complaints of being overcharged or even charged without completing their order. Do the research and you will find these people. Also, I am sad to say that it looks like so far I am the one that was scammed the highest amount! I think others were unknowingly just paying about $20 or more dollars more than anticipated for shipping and stuff like that. I am telling you.. these guys are getting away with this. Charging here and there and it all adds up. They get rich by deceivingly taking more than they are allowed. The wonderhanger is a cover. In the background they do their scamming!

Re Wonder Hangers

AUTHOR: Yankeedoodle - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 10, 2009

I bought 2 boxes of these at Walgreen's Drug store, $9.99/each. They really do work well! But after hanging for several days, I noticed that the hangers with heavy clothing were stretching out, to the point that they fall off the rod. Using Good 'Ole Yankee ingenuity, I replaced the one hanger loop (the one that's hanging on the rod after you let it down) with the curved (rod) end of a metal hanger, problem solved! They really need to use a stronger material for the curved pieces that hang on the rod, other than that, it is a great product and has more than quadrupled my closet space!

As far as the folks that got screwed on their Credit Cards, that solution is just as simple. Either wait for the product to come into the stores, or if you want to order off the TV, use a Prepaid credit card. It ain't Rocket Science, people! Always control how much someone can get from you!

Update

AUTHOR: Aik - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 10, 2009

hi you guys.. i wanted to give you updates. i heard from them thru the BBB and after about 3 exchanges they refunded my money. will still be filing a complaint with the attorney general. these people cannot continue doing this to people.

these people are a shady company. they have this business as a front and deliberately overcharge people every day to get more money. i have researched it and that's what it looks like. i didn't mention this but feel free to call their 800 number from their infomercial (short of placing the order of course) on TV and you will see how they take you thru all kinds of information and NEVER once do they give you a total before you get charged or even AFTER you get charged. this is OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE THEY KNOW what the hell they are doing! also.. i, as well as many others i know, use our debit cards everywhere. there is no 100% sure way to be safe unless you pay cash! so regardless if you use your debit or cc .. it's not like the olden days where you are out of luck. unauthorized charges can be reversed. and you can close your bank account just as quickly as you can close your cc account. my bank was in the process of reversing the full charge when i called them back to cancel the dispute because the company refunded my money.

remember that i was charged 264 instead of 25 bucks. and i had to fight because that's a lot of money to me. but the people that i have found that were scammed were charged maybe 20 or so bucks over the amount and most of them as i have read... they complain and get frustrated but never dispute it with their banks. just the company itself and OF COURSE they will not say ok sure we will give you your money back. i have called that company's customer service center numerous times . if you find ONE person that can intelligently talk to you and resolve your issue i will give you a medal! every one of them i have talked to, were programmed like robots to "not know anything" and "not able to do anything" they had the "too bad sorry order is out" attitude. so, these guys ARE DOING THIS AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT.. bottom line.. they are SHADY! you tell me why else would a merchant charge a credit card WITHOUT giving a total or even NOT give you a total even AFTER IT HAS BEEN CHARGED.. not do you confirm that you want to be charged such and such amount.. and not even your total is such and such amount. so i took it for granted that i would be charged about 26 bucks because i accepted their 20 hangers for 19.99 plus 6 (something) shipping and handling offer.

and for the person that posted about nothing being free, and nothing being what it seams. so you think we live in the matrix? lol.. just kidding.. i mean, i seriously didn't expect neiman marcus quality hangers when i ordered these and i obviously knew they were not free since i did give them a payment form. i buy trinkets that i feel they are not that well constructed but hey, they do a job and unfortunately i don't have the luxury to get something better. that's why we all go for a "good deal". again, i didn't expect anything luxurious. i expected to get those plastiky hangers that hang five or so garments on one hanger so i can organize my closet. it was really a simple thought .. it didn't work out that way for me or many other people.

ads and infomercials - AS SEEN ON TV STUFF IS OVER-PRICED CRAP ANYWAY! NOTHING IS FREE

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 04, 2009

ADVERTISEMENTS from the Federal Trade Commission website:

The appearance of ads in media outlets that you recognize - like your local newspaper or radio station - is no guarantee of the legitimacy of the company behind the ad.

It includes informercials - if they are willing to pay for it, they are sold it
No one checks the legitimacy of any company that is advertising

AS SEEN ON TV STUFF IS USUALLY CRAP ANYWAY -AND NOTHING IS FREE - YOU PAY FOR ALL OF IT. THEY DOUBLE THE PRICE ON TV...

IF YOU REALLY HAVE TO HAVE ONE - wait a few weeks - They end up in the stores for HALF THE TV PRICE and no overpriced shipping and handling charges.
