Around 04/03/13 I decided to get my first cell phone and selected verizon.com to be my service provider ,upon entering their web site and answering all their questions they recommended the Iphone 5 with rhapsody and ring tones sounded good to me hit yes to order after 4 more days of email questions from them they ship the phone  I plug it in follow the activation instructions only to be told I must call Verizon. After 45 min the worker tells me the services I ordered and signed up for(recommended by them) have not been available since early 2012 This to me is a pile of bull how does a multimillion dollar company have a website take a new customer through their on line selection chart that is outdated by a year which was stated by a company rep. it was their purchasing procedures not mine now I'm stuck with a 2yr contract with a phone that does not do what they said it can do I promise to tell 10 people a day not to trust them I can only hope to cause pain to the bottom line of verizon how ever small it may be

Get it straight

I want to get it straight for others when they read your report.

"I'm stuck with a 2yr contract with a phone that does not do what they said it can do"If you said an iPhone5 is not doing what you want it to do, I believe you do not know how t o operate the phone. The phone is similar to an Android but have different way of operation; however, iPhones are more expensive and you may need to pay extra to have the same functionality as Androis. Either iPhone or Android should be able to do what you want (rhapsody & ring tone). The part that does not work is the Verizon plan, NOT the phone.

I am sorry to hear that you did not get what you want because of Verizon's out-of-date website. I would recommend you next time (or whenever you need a new phone) to go to one of their (or other phone provider) retail store to ensure that you would get to see the product (in person).

PS: It is not nice to call the other person on the phone line as 'worker'. From what I gathered from your post, the person is a customer service who may also sells their product at the same time. They are not to blamed when something like this goes wrong, but most people do anyway. Yes, you can call others whatever you like, but it also shows who you are as a person to others.
