My husband and I purchased a brand new 2001 Champion Doublewide home, it was first financed with Chase Mtg then about 3-5 years went by and we had gotten a letter stating that our loan was sold to 21 Mtg. We never had an issue with the phone calls or anything until my husband lost his job in early 2008, we went from him bringing home over 500 wkly to barely getting 200 in unemployment. I called the company as soon as this happend and asked what could be done and I was told that we would need to call in a payment of 200 every week in order to not lose our home. I said well what are we suppose to eat with and pay the rest of the bills with, I was told then that I need to check my priorities, whether I wanted to continue to live in my home or feed my family. Then I was asked why I didn't work outside the house, I told them reluctanly that I have a migraine issue and wasn't able to return to work at this time and they again told me that I needed to get the money somehow or I would lose the house, at this time we were not behind in the house payments.

The phone calls began the following week after talking with them and letting them know of our financial situation, asking when the payments would begin, and reminding me that I am in jeopardy of losing my house. I replied to them stating that I was not behind on my payment and was reminded that I would be and needed to start collecting money from whomever and wherever I could so I could stay on top of my payments. I was asked when the unemployment monies was available and if they could just automatically take the payments from that, when I told them no that is when the phone calls came, atleast 4-5 times a day everyday, including sat and sun. If I didn't answer the phone they called my inlaws, and would talk with them about our payments and asked if they could make payments to help out. When they got no where with them they called my husbands brothers wifes parents, not even sure how they got there number and told them all about what is going on. Our loan was not co-signed with anyone, so they had no right to contact anyone regarding this issue.

On Thanksgiving evening we had an officer at our door, he had documents for us and my father in law, I was appalled when I opened the envelope and it was a lawsuit, suing myself, my husband and my father in law for abanonment and unlawful entry. I do admit at this time we were probably a month behind in our payments, but nowhere near the time for them to reposess our home.  Later in the follwing months the phone calls were turning into cell phone calls, emails, letters to the house, etc. We eventually lost our home but not before we contacted an attny, but we didn't have the money to hire her as she said it would cost 1500, per hour to look into the situation. If I am correct we only owed about 15000.00 on our house. The payments continually rose each time they wanted money and we finally said forget it, we had given all we could and they wouldn't work with us. The lead supervisor also got on the phone with me and was accusing me of not caring for my children or where they live because if I did I would take whatever means necessary to keep my home. I couldn't take it any longer. I was having migraines about 3-4 times a day, unable to work due to the harrassment.
