I was referred to Able Builders after I had a water damage problem in my home in Dunedin. I was contacted by Justin Wilber over the telephone and was promised the world and was told a gentleman by the name of Mark Hartstein would be coming over to my home to look over the damage and start working with my insurance company. Mark Hartstein arrived and was extremely pushy. He asked for $400 up front JUST to provide an estimate. I was very hesitant in order to provide the $400 and he stepped outside to make a phone call. He came back in and said he could waive the fee. I reluctantly agreed to move forward. After he reviewed the damage he left my home. I didn't hear from anyone for several weeks. I was contacted by my insurance company after about three weeks after Mark left. My insurance company advised me Able Builders submitted an estimate $10,000 higher than what they thought was fair for the work. The insurance company advised me that they have had several run ins with Justin Wilber at Able Buolders and that they are consistently trying to rip off elderly people like me. The insurance company advised me to cancel my contract with Able Builders and use a different contractor. When I called Justin Wilber to let him know this he tried to pressure me into staying in the contract and tried threatening me with a lawyer. I asked him to come to my house to talk to me and he refused. I persisted and he explained he was working in New York. Able Builders is not even licensed in the state of New York. Beware of this company, their business practices are very shady.

AUTHOR: J. Wilber - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 22, 2013

The above scenario absolutely never happened. We believe this post to be fake and written by an insecure competitor who has verbally threatened us and who has a history and reputation of defaming his perceived competitors though the deployment of fake consumer postings, as a simpleminded & pathetic business strategy.

As sad as this is, I must respond to this complaint, and provide readers with a factual basis for their own due diligence:

1. Neither Able Builders, Inc. nor JCW Investment Group, Inc (a holding company consumers wouldn’t be aware of), nor Justin Wilber (myself) nor Mr. Mark Hartstein has ever contracted with, signed a service agreement with, or ever met with a Jerry F. in Dunedin or anyone named Jerry whose last name starts with an F.

2.  We do not charge a $400.00 fee for an estimate, nor have we ever charged or asked for a $400 up front fee- which was apparently also "waived"  in the report above.

3. Able Builders is a licensed general contractor in business for 22 years, has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau,an IICRC Certified firm, and in 22 years has never had a registered complaint filed in any forum nor been involved in a law suit.

4. Able Builders not only gets referrals from professionals in the insurance and restoration industry, it services large real-estate management companies and is a direct vender for select insurance carriers (very few companies achieve this elite status).

5. If a customer wishes to not use Able's services after signing an agreement, they are always accommodated and released promptly. We know and understand that we are not always the best fit for every consumer, and must respect our customers’ wishes and decisions accordingly.

6. While I do split my time between our office in Clearwater and my 2nd home in New York for family reasons, my main office is in Clearwater and I have spent over 27 years living in the Tampa Bay area. Our President, Mr. Steve Wiegand, is always available to meet any customer or potential customer at their home or venue of choosing by appointment, whenever I am not in town or unavailable. For further inquiries regarding this post, or for actual customer testimonials and/or references, please visit our website at: www.ablebuildersinc.com, or feel free to contact me, Justin Wilber, Executive VP of Able Builders, Inc. directly, toll free at: 866-331-3770, extension 101, or Mr. Steve Wiegand, President, at Extension 103.

If we are misunderstood, and this is somehow a viable account, please contact the Better Business Bureau, State Attorney, FL DBPR, IICRC, or any number of overseeing enties we work under and initiate a valid complaint with valid proof you were a customer of Able builders, or post a response with a valid work auth number or structual repair estimate number - And your issues will be investigated and resolved.
