Aerotek is a recruiting company. They go around to companies and offer to provide them with workers that are either contract or contract to perm.

If they do not place an employee they do not get paid so your statement that they don't care is wrong. They do care that they get a contract to get someone that they referred so they get money.

They are a middleman. They forward your resume to employers. Depending on who they are providing workers for they may only be allowed to forward a limited number of resumes (the company determines that number not Aerotek).

As far as getting a professionally written resume I would say it may help you and there are resources that you can use that will have someone do this for free or will provide you free training on how to write a resume.

Companies use a search engine similar to Google or Yahoo to search for potential employees. These search engines use key words or phrases to screen applications. If you do not have any of those key words in your resume then no one will look at it no matter how well qualified you are for the job.

Good luck
