Affordable Water Heaters & Plumbing, Inc. Charges twice what reputable companies charge; warranty is only half as long, Internet

Discovered leaking water heater and called number listed on "Safety" sticker.  Quoted $1616 for repair.  Company claimed water heater with 6-year warranty was over $900 (forced by recent rapid rise in prices, they said) and over $100 for city permit.

I should have checked them out first!!

I visited (((competitor's neame redacted))) the next day and found they charge less than $600 for a name-brand heater with a 12-year warranty and $270 for installation. 

I also discovered this company has a Better Business Bureau rating of "F" because of "price gouging, unnecessary repairs and deceptive practices."

When I called to request a refund of $600, I was told the "customer service person" who handled that was "out."  They could not tell me when he would be "in" and his voice mail said he would respond to my complaint "within 3 business days."  So far, no call.

The company mailed out over 1 million official-looking "updated" "safety" stickers with instructions for the homeowner to place this over the existing sticker (which happend to have the original installer's contact information).  Thousands of us complied--thinking this was important new information about water heater safety for earthquakes.  Over a million potential new "customers" for this rip-off!!!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
