These two people, Alana Crystina Page and Shawn Teehan(Steinmetz) pretended to be overly helpful friends and Christians o us. They came from Bradenton, FL to 'help' us move where they were promised some money for doing this and a possible job. They ended upTheir stealing $1200 worth of our cash, almost stealing our car and being giving the kick to the curb when we finally caught up with them. Their scammers, theives and liars. I looked up some of their pretend companies and they just seem to create a new company when one scam runs out. I also found Alana arrested I don't know why here so you see this theives picture.

Trip Gone Wrong

AUTHOR: 34207 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 23, 2012

I am Alana Crystina Page, the woman reported in this report. First, let me say that Shawn and I have absolutely no current connection with Homes By Towne. Neither of us were ever owners or operators of that business, although Shawn did work for them from 2003-2005.

Shawn and I do co-own and operate The Other Husband, a handyman / painting service in Bradenton, FL. In the year and a half that we have been running this business, we have not had a single unhappy client whose issues were not immediately resolved to their satisfaction. Shawn can say the same of all of his clients for greater than a decade.

The situation that Steve and Dana outline in their report was a complicated one. Shawn and Steve met while building Steve's parents' new home. Steve and Dana decided to move down to Florida from New Jersey and asked Shawn to help them drive their car and moving van back. After a bit of discussion, it was decided that the four of us adults and their young daughter would fly north and drive back together.

While we were in NJ packing and getting ready to move them back, there was quite a dispute between the two of them regarding the security deposit. Her ex-fiance of 6 years was to take over the lease. Steve wanted to take the $1200 that he felt they were owed by the landlord. Dana wanted to leave it there with the ex. After leaving the old home for the last time, Steve realized that he had left his wallet and sent Dana back to the house to get it, where the ex was waiting to say goodbye. The money was never seen after that. Coincidence? Maybe.

We stopped in MD for the night and got on the road the next morning. Before leaving the hotel, the two of them accused me of stealing the $1200. We immediately offered to let them search everything we had with us, which consisted of just a backpack and a rolling luggage bag. We even went as far as to offer to go back into the hotel room and let them strip search us. His reply was, "I've been to prison. I know there are other places you can put (stuff)." So, we left the hotel still being accused of theft, but not allowed to properly defend ourselves or put the situation to rest. We also offered to catch a bus or get a ride home if they were uncomfortable with us continuing the trip with them. They declined, and, interestingly enough, even had us drive their personal vehicle.

That day, we got separated in D.C. traffic. It took us ~ three hours to go 30 miles, and another hour to go thirty more. The car charger didn't work in their car, so we when my phone died, I was unable to let them know that their car had also overheated. We finally were able to get off the road and get antifreeze. After being in horrible traffic for three hours, we figured they would bypass the next major city, Richmond, and continued on to just south of there, where we stopped at a McDonalds to charge the phone and call them. That's when they accused us of stealing their car and had us drive an hour back north to meet them in Richmond.

The next morning, the had us drive their car again...(the one we had "stolen"). I had posted on FB the general details of our trip, including that we were being accused of theft and that we needed prayers and "happy thoughts" sent our way. When Dana saw that on my wall, she sent me a text telling me to get out of her car and walk home. Mind you, we were still almost 700 miles from home. So, we called his dad and had him start north to meet us. We happened to meet near the GA/SC line, and called Steve to pull over. We then got out of the car with our two bags, offered to let them search us again, and walked away when he again declined. What happened on their trip after that, I have no knowledge of. I do, however, know that Steve has called Shawn no less than three times since then asking Shawn to work for him.

The mugshot that Steve listed here is from a 2002 arrest for failure to appear after a simple traffic violation. I honestly forgot about my court date after it had been continued and I moved out of state. When I realized my error, I flew back, turned myself in, and was arrested on a "failure to appear" charge. The sentence was suspended and no further action was taken.

As far as their allegation of "scamming" and multiple companies... Between Shawn and I, we have had at least three different businesses legally registered in the state of Florida. In addition to the handyman business he and I now run, I have also done business as a photographer and as a website designer. There have been no scams, intentions to scam, or legitimate complaints against any of those businesses. I can assure you that none of the businesses have been "pretend".

Anyone is welcome to contact me at crystina (at) crystina (dot) net for more information regarding our business. I will also provide business or personal references to anyone who requests them.
