The terms and conditions of this company make it almost impossible to use this insurance.

I purchased this insurance because I had been treated for a pinched nerve in my neck and had been told that I would likely feel better by the time of the event.  I paid the extra money for the insurance thinking that if I was in a situation where I couldn't make the event, I'd have the support of the event insurance to recover the loss of my tickets.  Seems logical right?  Well, logic doesn't prevail with Allianz.  Greed seems to prevail.

When the time came for the event, my neck was killing me.  I knew I couldn't sit through a two hour drive to NYC and the duration of the show.  I hated not going.  I had a friend in the show and had been looking forward to it.  Allianz only added insult to injury.

I called Allianz to file a claim.  The phone call went nicely enough... fill out some paperwork, have my doctor fill out paperwork... So, my doctor was kind enough to take time to complete the paperwork and I submitted mine to Allianz as well.

But, looking at the terms and conditions associated with the policy made it clear that this company would do anything possible to avoid paying me.  If you have any illness-- even minor-- prior to the event, don't even bother buying the insurance.  Even if a doctor fills out the paperwork, they will call it pre-existing conditions.  Allianz has no concience.

I waited... and waited... for Allianz to contact me to complete the claim.  Emails received no response.  Finally, I received a letter in the mail denying my claim.  Would a human being be so blatantly unkind to deny insurance to a person who is in pain?

This insurance was a waste of money and only frustrated me more when I was already in pain.  I won't waste the money again.

Allianz terms are too restrictive to make their insurance useful

AUTHOR: sodajunkie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 04, 2012

I understand you are paid by the company to present their side of the issue.  I, personally, could not do your job as my conscience would not allow me to make such responses to people in pain who have lost a substantial amount of money.

Again, your company only added insult to my injury by creating terms that are so restrictive.  I am laid out, bed ridden, and have lost the chance to see a show I was looking forward to seeing.  I am also out the cash that I paid for the tickets AND the ridiculous insurance I purchased.

Hi, Sarah from the Help Team here. Were sorry that your claim was not resolved to your satisfaction and that the insurance you purchased didnt provide you with the coverage you had hoped it would.
Event ticket insurance is like any other type of insurance in that there are terms and conditions that determine if a claim is payable. We, as well as our partners, want consumers to make informed decisions when it comes to event ticket insurance. When the insurance is offered, we make sure that we indicate that Limitations apply and provide a link which consumers may use if they want to review the terms and conditions.

Should you have additional questions on the outcome of your claim, or if youd like to get a better understanding of the policy you purchased, please call our customer service line at 1-800-419-8016. Once again, we apologize we were unable to cover you in your situation.

Regards,

Sarah, Help Team
