I ordered a cybersonic toothbrush from the tv ad hosted by Robt Urich. It was charged to my credit card July 25, 2001. For personal reasons, I did not begin using it until about the middle of Sept. It worked well; I liked it; about six weekds later, it simply quit working; the on/off button did not work.I found the customer svc #in the papers in the box in was shipped in and started trying to call them. They are Pacific Time. I called every day for two weeks but never was able to get through; they had what appeared to be two taped recordings; one, a woman said to call again, all reps were busy. The other, a man, said to "Hold", all reps were busy.FINALLY, I determined to keep calling until the man answered and to HOLD ON as long as necessary to talk to a rep. After 20-25 minutes, a rep came online; but he did not seem to know anything about the product, nor did he know the name of the manufacturer or anything about their warranty. He took my info and said he would ask his supervisor to call me back. This was about Nov 15. I still have not heard from them.

I have tried a few times again calling their 800# but that is a dead loss. I thought this product was manufactured in Canada, but the l year limited warranty on the shipping box gave the address: Amden Corp., 27132B Paseo Espada, Bldg 1200, Ste 1225, San Juan Capastrano, CA 92675.

I have also written them (regular mail) with no response. I paid on my credit card $109.70 for this toothbrush. Now, it appears that I am stuck with it, although Robert Urich is still on TV all the time advertising the toothbrush. Can anything be done about this? Virginia M. Lee (valee@webtv.net)

#2 Consumer Suggestion

if the toothbrush was purchased more than 90 days ago, you would be unable to file a billing dispute

AUTHOR: Barb - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 07, 2003

Actually, if the toothbrush was purchased more than 90 days ago, you would be unable to file a billing dispute with your credit card company. Any complaints regarding the quality of merchandise or services must be received within 90 days from the date of purchase according to Visa and Mastercard guidelines. Your credit card company would be unable to assist you since it has been more than 90 days since the merchandise was purchased.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

contact your issuing Credit card company and file a dispute

AUTHOR: T - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 24, 2003

You can contact your issuing Credit card company and file a dispute with them. Most banks will offer a provisional credit that will become permanent after 30-90 days later. Good Luck and buy local.
