American Family Fitness Treats Military Disabled Veterans Like Dog, Money Hungry Managers, Liers Fredericksburg Virginia

I am a military disabled veteran.  I got a gym membership there hoping that the exercise would help with my pain resulting from injuries sustained while serving in the military.  However, I was wrong, it made my injuries worse.  I spoke to Dina Robertson, the assistant manger about my injuries but instead of hearing me out she ended up gaving me a lecture about how I signed a contract and that I should understand what a contract is since I served in the military.  Along with other condescending remarks (the general manager Shawn Vaden later sent a written apology addressing the remarks), she told me that I would have to have a doctor fill out their Verification of Disability form before they could cancel my contract.  So I took time off work to go to the VA hospital, which isn't convenient at all in order to have a doctor fill out this form.  The doctor stated that my pain would last about 6-8 months and that I could use the gym in a very limited capacity.  To my surprise, the gym denied the verification of disability because I can still use the gym....if in a limited capacity.

I spoke to a National Fitness (the ones that handle their transactions) supervisor who told me that the claim was denied because I could still use the gym.  And they are right....expect in a very limited capacity.  She later told me that the claim was further denied because the doctor put a range of 6-8 months for the injuries to heal.  The supervisor stated that the doctor needed to put only one number and that ranges regarding injuries are basically prohibited.  I explained to her that I can't use the gym in its full capacity so why am I being forced to pay for a gym membership?  She told me that my disability form was sent to the Fredericksburg American Family Fitness Center where a Manger denied it.  I asked the supervisor if she had cable TV., and the lady said "yes".  I asked her if she would pay her cable bill and continue to pay it if she only received 10 out of 300 TV. Channels.  The lady said "no".  So I asked again, why am I paying for a gym membership I can't fully use.  In the end, we went in circles but she kept stating that the American Family Fitness Center was the real ones that denied my disability form.  The supervisor stated that you basically have to be in a full body cast to get the membership cancelled.  

Of course when I asked her what my contract said, the supervisor stated that my membership could be cancelled if I could not use a substantial portion of the gym.  I ended the conversation since I wasn't getting anywhere.

From the beginning, this gym and their staff especially Dina Robertson was nothing but rude.  When I told Dina I was Military she started with the condescending remarks.   When I have a Department of Veterans Affairs doctor sign my disability form it gets denied (because apparently the mangers know my injuries the best).  AMFAM Fitness group is nothing but money hungry. They don't care about military, their families, or that you are disabled - all they care about is that they get paid their monthly membership fees.

In the last 6 months I used the gym twice - which was when I first signed up.  Since then I haven't used it and don't plan to.  Why go to the gym in pain.  I can't wait till my contract is up.
