AMERICAN LANDSTAR TRANSPORTATION INC. A FLAT OUT CHEAT!!!!!!!!! staten island, New York

As the owner of American Landstar Transport I would like to set the record straight. Stiffed was
a previous employee for my company. This is the only part of his report that is true. He worked for me as an owner/operator for some time and, like every other paying job, received a paycheck for the work he did every single week without delay.

Working for my company is very simple. You sign a contract. If youre an owner/operator then you sign an owner/operator contract. I have 14 trailers and two trucks. As any good businessman will tell you, "nothing in life is free." I dont expect to work for free just like I dont expect my drivers to work for free.

I do not hide anything from my drivers. I am up front with them from the very start. If they make me money then I make them money.  I gave "Stiffed" a chance to make money and he screwed himself. He came to me and said he wanted to increase his state registration and that he needed a loan to do so. I gave him $1200.00. He took my trailer drove to Pennsylvania, never increased his state registration, kept my load and trailer in his home town, and spent the money on only God knows what.

But wait, it gets better. When I called him to ask him where he was and how he was doing, he tells me he needed more money to increase his state registration. After questions what he did with the first amount he became irate and unreasonable. How to you argue with "crazy?"  I will not lie, words were exchanged, but he is a contracted driver who signed an agreement, shook my hand, and then broke it. 

"Stiffed"then called the police and said he was "scared for his life and the life of his family," Ya right, who does he think I am...... Al Capone? The police called me and after a short and very logical discussion with them the issue was resolved and the police said to me this guy was the biggest nutcase they have dealt with. In addition to the $1,200.00 I fronted him, the money I lost for the days he kept my trailer, and the value of my time he took up on the phone, "Stiffed" also forced me to send a driver out to "The Middle of Nowhere, P.A." to pick my own trailer up. (a violation of his
contract agreement by the way).

A word to the wise, when you sign a contract read it. When you shake a mans hand, honor your promise. When you bite the hand that feeds you..... to get starved "stiffed!"
