 My nightmare started in may of 2013. After sending the required $495.00 aplication fee and the down payment of $9,ooo they said the truck i wanted would not be ready for  acouple of weeks, which was ok since i was still working. They were putting in a new motor and transmission.   i kept calling and  asking what the payment would be,and all they kept saying was that it was affordable when you get here you will find out. That should have been  red flag right there,but i didnt give it much thought.

                                   When they called to say my truck was ready i went to gulfport only to find out it wasnt ready. they put a D O T sticker on it without a tail light and it was leaking antifreeze. I took the truck for  a test drive and the check engine light was on and the jake break didn't work. back at the shop the mechanic whose name is Will was mad at me and said i dont know why you need that, it was working. Then another mechanic told him that they took the ECM off and put it on another truck so they had to program this one to this truck.  

                                 I ended up staying in gulfport for 11 days, paying the motel bill out of my own pocket and the owner loius Norman didnt care when i told him this was a bunch of crap and that he should pay for it.

                                   the day i left the aircondition broke the truck was blowing black smoke and the check engine light was on. when i called and told them what was going on they said i had to pay $500.00 deductable and i told them no way am i paying that,i have the 30 day warranty. i took the truck to a peterbilt dealer which they approved of and the estimate was $4,300 hundred dollars. So the head mechanic Eric and Ralph the manger of american trucks called and said they were not going to pay that much money and i had to bring the truck back to gulfport. i told them no i dont have money for that. so they didnt honor there 30 day warranty at all.

                                  Peterbilt charged $208 for looking at the truck which took american trucks two weeks to pay the bill after i refused to pay it. but they kept calling everyday because they said i was late on thr truck payment. are you kidding me. the day i left the truck breaks down i cant work and you guys want a truck payment.

                               I ended up taking the truck back to gulfport so they could fix the problem. After another 8 days of being there Ifinally leave only to have the same problems again with air conditioning and the black smoke and the check engine light. So my question is what the hell did the mechanics do. Apparently Nothing.

                               This time time amercan trucks sent me to peterbilt of davenport iowa. They say that the estimate is too high again and they wont pay to have truck fixed there and that i would have to pay the $500.00 deductable. i went off on Houston, Maria, and ralph and one of the owners Bo. Iwas not going to pay for their truck to be fixed for the same problems that their incompetant mechanics didnt fix. So I spent another week out of work over the 4th of july. and still they kept calling for the truck payment.  But the truck got fixed.  

                        But I found out that it wasnt new motor like american trucks said it was it was a 2004 motor out of another truck and they put all used parts on it. When i called to ask for the paperwork for the motor Eric and Ralhp said i couldnt have it and peterbilt was lying. Why would peterbilt lie about that and they showed me where the stamp on the motor was.

                        i finally get all caught up with the payments except for one and they repoed the truck while i was under a load. i had to go to long island to get my stuff out of the truck and pay $125 to get it plus gas a nd tolls. i also payed for the plate and the 2290 in full and the repo company wouldnt let me take the plate even though i showed them the reciept. so ive lost about $20,000 dollars with these people and they dont care at all. Something has to be done to put these people out of business before anybody else gets shafted.
