AmeriTrain set up the old bait and switch in grand form

After enduring the hard sell to get me to sign up, I was promised the MCSE course at the Neshaminy Interplex in N.E. Philadelphia starting Aug 5th, a course that seems to have been a ruse from the get go.

It all started with looking into the MCSE, Exchange and Cisco certifications at over 11,000.00 dollars and the promises kept coming. I was feeling uneasy about the push to sign up now, so I walked away. I received phone call after phone call with the deal changing and getting better all the time. I should have known, but I was on a time schedule and wanted to knock this course out quick, so I signed up July 5th for the MCSE course for Aug 5th in N.E. Philadelphia costing $5500.00 with the promise of two retakes if needed, etc Somewhere towards the end of July, I received a phone call from Douglas Lingo (the recruiter whom no longer is employed at AmeriTrain) stated the course has been changed to August 11th. No big deal, I can do that. NO mention of the fact that the classroom would be in Wayne, PA not N.E. Philadelphia.

Now the fun begins. On August 11, I go to the Interplex and travel around the area looking for the campus, but it's nowhere to be found. I make a phone call to AmeriTrain and the receptionist informs me that I was signed up in Wayne, PA. What!? The conversation goes on saying the Interplex campus is not even open and she'll have to have Mr. Davis call me tomorrow.

Tomorrow comes, no phone call. Midway through Wednesday, I call back. Mr. Davis is unavailable; he'll call you by the end of the week.

Friday, no calls, so I call yet again to no avail. No answer.

Monday the 19th, I leave work early and travel to the Wayne campus. At 4:00pm, the building is empty. Around 4:30pm, two instructors show up in the sandals, shorts and t-shirts, looking ever so professional. The inform me that there will be no one at Wayne that can help me out and gave me phone numbers to call. The first number I call is supposed to be the president of the company, turns out to be some nobody in the company. The second number I try is the vice president, Steven Gouveia, to which I leave a message to call me back. The third number they put down as receptionist, turns out to be the number to the secretary of the President of the company: Douglas D. Davis. She of course no nothing about what's going on, can give you no advice and says that Mr. Davis will not be back until next week and he's the only one I can talk to about the situation.

Tuesday the 20th, I tried Steven Gouveia one more time, only to get his voicemail that says he no longer works for the company.

One friend of mine is signed up at the Wayne campus and he said that there were a total of 16 students for the class, 10 of which were initially signed up for the Interplex campus. Only 1 of the students of the 10 showed up in Wayne. I would like to know if the 8 are in the same boat as myself.

I had a friend call and what it sounded like to him, was after October 2002, AmeriTrain will be out of cash and out of business, so please beware.

I have placed a claim with the Better Business Borough and Attorney General and I will be perusing this matter from other directions. I contacted the credit card company and they are getting my deposit back, but the loan company says we gave AmeriTrain the money, so you'll have to get it back from them. You still owe us the cash

At this point, I'm out $5500.00 and AmeriTrain is not going to honor its agreement.
