I find it very interesting that people are writing these "reviews" about apartment boy on here.  they all appear to be written by the same disgruntled person.  I've used apartment boy twice in the past 2 years, once with Mr Dillard, and once with another locator.  Both times I was provided a report of options, they contacted the properties and verified availability for me, and then setup appointments as needed.  i went and leased, and that was it.  It was the easiest experience I've ever had..  They do a max rebate up to $200, both times I qualified for $100.

Considering the companie's been in business for a total of 2 years I believe, it says a lot that there's ONLY 3 negative comments to be found on the Internet.  All written by the same lunatic more than likely.

This business is likely fake or out to crook apartment places. As it turn out, people like TC or Apartment Boys get paid from apartments when they "recruit" people to proprieties. While they're not directly cheating you out if money, they use you as a pawn to get money from these properties often bribing you with promises they never intend in keeping. It's often to good to be true, sometimes even allowing you to name your price or gift. 

I started off, like the last comment, by finding an apartment online. It was incorrectly listed and priced. The property was not even taking applications, but it was a new post. I'm guessing they do this to entice customers. I asked him on two separate occasions if he might be able to show me the apartments, like real apartment locators do (ie citihomes off of westheimer) and he told me two very seperate lies. I don't think he realized that I emailed him from a different email account. I was just at work and not at home, so I wasn't ecessarily trying to catch him lying, just getting more information about what he does. Anyways, unbeknownst to him, he didn't hold on to the lie he first told me. He said he couldn't show me the apartment because he was in California the first time, then at work told me he couldn't show me because he was in Austin. Unless he did some traveling in record time, which I doubt, he was lying. I immediately googled him and found bad reviews.  Fortunately for me, I knew to discontinue using his services. He likely was at home or wherever he conducts business and simply did not want to meet the people he's likely scamming.

Also, his sentence and grammar in his emails are very unprofessional. It's very poor. For a man who wishes to conduct business solely via correspondence, I find that he should at least have good syntax. I don't know if you've ever emailed people on craigslist you know to be scammers, but if you have, a common characteristic is poor grammar and sentence structure. This is a mark of overseas trickery/scamming in translations to the English language. 

I agree also with the originator of this report... if you live in the Houston metropolitan area, you know reputable locators. No one has ever heard him. My apartments told me to not use TC's service if I felt there was inconsistency due to the scamming that has been happening in the business with reputable locators.

It's an annoyance that when you are truly looking for an apartment on Craigslist (which can sometimes be helpful) and you find people like this business. Most especially when you are in a crunch. They saturate Craigslist with their scams and impede the searching process. I hope Craigslist starts to do more about cracking down on scammers like this. 

I wondered why hot pads was suddenly flooded with hundreds of ads from this same company.  None of the ads have addresses, and I know the zip code very well -- there just aren't that many places for rent in this zip code.  Also, these houses and their foilage look anything like the older historical neighborhood they are supposedly in.  I know for a fact that a grouping of five in one block don't even exist on that street.  Plus, nothing is remotely believeable about the rent prices.  It's about a dollar to 1.50 a square foot and they are advertising stuff that is 10% that price per square foot.

They are FLOODING hotpads with scammy spammy ads to the point where it makes the hotpads app impossible to use.  

I called on several of these and I was told they were rented already.  Things don't rent within 30 minutes of being posted -- in 30 minutes time, they posted an ad, somebody called, they showed them the property, and they rented it?  Nope, that has never happened in this zip code here in Dallas.

Scam, fraud, and spam.

I doubt any of the rebuttals above are real people.  

My jaw dropped reading the review of Mr. Dillard.  Its the exact opposite of my experience, he was the absolute best locator Ive ever used, and I'm now using him to buy a home.  I received a $150 rebate within several weeks after moving in, and he made the search extremely easy on me.  I couldn't be happier, and I strongly recommend Mr. Dillard to anyone needing assistance.  He is extremely caring and dedicated, and very honest

I just read through the review written on this site, and it sounds like nonsense to me.  I used Mr. Dillard to locate an apartment in Houston last week, and couldn't be more happy with the help he provided!  I haven't received my rebate yet, but having spoke with TC several times over Skype, I have no doubts of his sincerity.  Plus several of my friends have used him, and they all received their rebates within a couple months of moving in.  Maybe I'll come back here and write something if that changes, but I doubt it will!!  Thank you!!!  And to the person who wrote that long review, you are the one that's loco!! lol

I recently used Mr. Dillard to find a place in Houston, TX, and I can't begin to thank him enough.  I moved from Seattle, and it was a nightmare trying to find a place that could work with my situation.  I have very specific taste, and a large black lab, so I needed any help I could get.

Mr. Dillard was kind enough to pick me up from Hobby Airport, and from there we proceeded into the Downtown/Midtown area, and he showed me several places I liked.  I finally settled on a place close to Bagby, and I absolutely love it!

I asked if I could repay him in any way, and he simply said - write a review about me online.  I typed in a search on Google, and this page showed up, and I was shocked at the review I read, because its the total OPPOSITE of my experience with Mr. Dillard.

He was extremely kind and understanding of me, and I can't begin to thank him enough.  He did offer a rebate to me as well for $300, and if I had any issue, it would be that the rebate took about 8 weeks to show up.  But after investigating futher, I realizewd that wasn't his fault though, my apartment community doesn't pay locators until they've received 2 months of rent from me, so I understand now.

I loved my experience with Apartment Boy!  Thank you so much TC!!

The report filed by this person is patently false in every shape or form possible.  If you wasted time reading it, I apologize.

In a nutshell - this lady paid nothing for our time and service to her, and after completing several small tasks at her request over a 6 week period, we found a place for her - but she then demanded $200 from us to secure our referral.  We agreed as a good sport and to hopefully secure future business, essentially meaning we'd break even for helping her.

From that point forward she called/texted/emailed every day demanding money.  After explaining to her again that we can't pay anything until the property pays us, she went ballistic openly contemplating changing our referral to someone else, while also simultaneously claiming she'd never do such a thing because of her "morals".  Her behavior was rather confusion.

She then sent a series of nasty text messages threatening to write bad reviews on the evenign of 4th of July, lying repeatedly that she had physical proof we'd collected a bill from her property.  Of course, no such evidence existed, and when we spoke with her property manager, we learned that nobody in the office could confirm anything this lady was saying.

In a nutshell - she's a liar.  She suffers from a victim mentality (she thinks everyone's out to get her, the whole world's against her, etc.)  If she had any patience or minimal decency, we'd gladly have sent her $200.  Instead, after warning her not to write something false about us, she went ahead and did so.  And that's why she wont be getting the $200.  We dont like being extorted and lied about, so she has nobody to blame but herself.

We've been in this business for almost 10 years, have serviced close to 20,000 people, and this is the ONLY person to have somehow been "scammed".  If you believe anything she says its your loss.  My track record speaks for itself with sane individuals.  If you're insane like her though, feel free to follow her "review".
