These people came into our home to clean our chimney, which ended up costing over $800.00 for a chimney sweep and a ceramic plate. We were told that they could take out the wood stove insert for $500.00 or we could, as it was not to code. We removed it. They came back to clean the chimney, our family room and kitchen were full of soot. We called the serviceperson, Brent, and told him to check his vacuum, as our home is now black. We did not realize, until Sat. Dec. 1/12 that the soot had carried through to our living room and dining room..we have a white carpet, which is now black, the table was full of soot, and so was all of our pictures, dining room furniture, and lamps. We noticed this, as our granddaughter had white socks on, which were now black. I called Ed Beard, so called Manager. I have never, in all my life, been spoken to the way he did. He told me that they would not be sending out a service person, as it was our fault. He would not even let me speak. When I explained to him that we only expect our home to be the same as when the entered it, he still talked over me, and kept yelling and repeating that it was our fault. This is almost comical, he also asked why it took so long to call and report, when I tried to let him know that we called the service man, Brent, so not to get him into trouble about the problem, and the reason I was now calling, is that the mess is beyond us...and our white wood/persian carpet needs to be professionally cleaned...I do not think this is alot to ask...leave my home the way you found it..he also made fun of the fact that we have a Dyson vacuum and said it was a joke!! We do have a witness, a gentleman came in the very next day and the day after, we removed the wood stove, to measure for fireplace doors, as we will no longer be using the "unsafe" woodstove. But, again, Ed Beard did not give me the chance to explain why I was calling, and did figure out, finally, that he really did not care to hear what happend in my home.
If you ever need a chimney sweep in Peel Region & vacinity do not use this company, I have used A1 Chimney Sweep before, they clean the chimney from the roof, NOT inside the house where the soot will get all over your home and belongings. I should have stuck with what I knew, and NOT tried a new company. Also, you cannot go onto their web page and write a review, they only place their own on the site...this should have been my first clue!!!
