WARNING: Aspen Lofts "Apartments" are a dangerous, crime-infested rip-off! Do not move here. This place is an old motel they did a mediocre job of trying to turn into apartments. Proof of this is online at the old motel's website which is still up at aspenridgeextendedstay.com. The toilets clog all the time. The fireplaces don't work. There is black mold in the bathrooms.
We can deal with the plumbing issues, the faulty wiring and the poor construction. The crime element here, however, is unbelieveable, and is the reason we are moving out. There is a ridiculously cheap motel next door (right in what should be our back yard) where there are constant fights, screaming, gunshots, beer bottles being thrown, people vomitting, and people urinating in the parking lot at all hours of the day and night. I have witnessed all of these things, and believe me, it is hard to ignore. The residents from that motel also regularly wander through our parking lot to break into our cars. My car has been burglarized twice, and the second time i watched the me run into the motel next door with my vehicle speakers. I also caught my neighbor across the way (in this complex) peeping into my window, and the management didn't do anything to stop it, because the pervert still does it if i don't shut my blinds all the way.
As if the crime from the hotel next door, and dealing with the weirdos here weren't enough, there is a halfway house oun the other side of this place. I realize these folks have to reside somewhere, but some of the halfway house residents are CONVICTED FELONS, and this is a very indusrtial, isolated area at night.
When you call and walk-thru the "complex" they make it sound wonderful, and they say NOTHING about the crime. I feel this is fraudulent and deceptive, and very dangerous for women especially. I was in a big hurry to get into a place, and, of course, they had vacancies here, so i moved-in without checking this nasty (my opinion) place out first.
I am posting this in hopes of saving you from having your things stolen like I did, being woken-up and scared to death every night like I am, and possibly worse. I have lived in inner-city NYC and Atlanta, and NEVER have I seen crime like this. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Hello: Thank you for taking the time to write a report on the Aspen Lofts Community. We apologize for the negative experiences you have had as a resident at Aspen Lofts. Since 2013 we have made many upgrades to the apartment community. This community offers units at market-rate prices. Our units feature updates kitchens, flooring and stainless steel applicances. We pride ourselves in making Aspen Loft a safe and great family-friendly community. Our on-site staff is there to ensure that our residents are welcomed with open arms and we offer many resident friendly events at our on-site clubhouse. We are located close to the Oak Hills Country Club and shopping centers are a just a short drive away.

Brand New Remodeled Aspen Lofts

In the last two years, there has been several changes and remodeling happening at Aspen Lofts in Omaha, NE. Before acquiring the property, the facility was a extended stay hotel for several years and was not well maintained to its up most potential at an ideal location. Once the property was acquired, our partners decided to invest heavily into transitiong the property from a hotel, to luxury living apartment homes with studio, one bedrooms, and two bedroom lofts.
The property has been remodeled to include a Brand New Clubhouse which includes a 24-Hour Fitness Center, a Game Room which includes a Pool Table and Lounge Area, and a sparkiling new pool. Besides the clubhouse, the buildings and apartments have also been remodeled to provide our residents a great place to call home. New siding was installed with a new exterior paint color, new decks and patios, and brand new garage doors are just a couple of the items included in the remodeleding of the community.
Inside the luxury apartment lofts, a fully equipped kitchen has been installed with stainless steel appliances, new flooring throughout the home, and brand new fixtures and plumbing have all been replaced. Take a look for yourself at http://aspenlofts.seldin.com.
Most of the construction phase occured during the fall and winter seasons here in Nebraska, and sometimes things can get a little messy, but this is pretty common in renovation projects. We appreciate all of the patience our residents have gone through, but the final project will be one our residents will be sharing with their friends and family.
In regards to the hotel next door, there was quiet an investment put into remodeling the property, and its still an ongoing process. The hotel is unoccupied for cnstruction and we have not experienced any problems from them.
We apologize for any inconvenience our residents have recieved during construction, and we hope we can create a great impression when you stop by the property for yourself and see all of the new features we have to offer.

I am the property manager for Aspen Lofts and I read our complaint this morning and would like to remind everyone that Aspen Lofts is a great place to live. We have been under construction for 5 months now and the property is really beginning to take a whole new look. I encourage anyone to schedule a tour and visit the new Aspen Lofts. We have not had any tenants move out of the property, no crimes have been reported to the police in the last 5 months and nothing has been reported stolen either. I know each resident on the property and no one has come to me with any complaints regarding anything listed in the rip off report. We pay a security company to visit the property multiple times as night as we do for all of our properties and nothing has ever been reported to the security company. Www.crimemapping.com displays crimes in the area from the Omaha Police Department and this shows nothing at our location as well. There are many high quality companies right across the street like Omaha Steaks, ES&S, L Street Markert and many others. This location is great and if you can stand construction for a couple more months this property will be one of the best looking properties that Southwest Omaha has to offer.
