I was sold when I heard about the conference being advertised on the radio. I am a stay at home mom looking for a career and that sounded perfect. I had never been so excited about anything in my life. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that it was too good to be true but didn't want to think that way. I really thought I had found a way to make good money and make a better life for my children.

We are a family of 4 living off one income and with the economy going in the direction that it is times are tough. I am so upset and sick to my stomach over this whole thing. I hope that these people are stopped so that they can't give any body else false hope and take anyone else's money. I would really like to get my money back that I couldn't afford to give them in the first place.

I just found out your company is a scam  and melissas story is the first report ive read and this site will only let u write one rebuttal a day so i will be on telling my daughters experience for months   I know the company is guilty because he said the company has never heard from her after her first assignment was turned in .  Thats because they dont answer anymore after that so they can legally say they never have recieved any complaints from her.          The only good reviews u see on this site or the companys site look teleprompted all are pretty identical in their writing and paragraph skills.   Also the "Great Job" u recieve right be for your worst test score is shown is a dead giveaway.    I did know i now know and i will let everyone possible know that this so called scam company is not a school.

Working for 6+ years and loving it!!

AUTHOR: Char - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 28, 2013

I am writing in response to all the negativity regarding At Home Professions. I was in retail pharmacy for 27 years when I finally realized that I needed a change. My goal was to work at home and be my own boss. I attended a seminar for At Home Professions, and that moment changed my life for the better!!  At the time I had 2 young children and a job working approximately 30 hours a week. I was able to complete the At Home course in about 6 months' time with an "A" average!!That was in November. By February I had found a job. No the job was not handed to me. I sent out many resumes and talked to anyone who would listen.  I was determined to find myself my "Dream Job" and I did!!! Noone is going to come looking for you. You have to go out, make contacts, talk to people and spread the word, which I did, and At Home Professions was always there with any help I needed or to answer any questions I had!!!

I have now been working successfully at home for over 6 years. I am able to work my own schedule, as much or little as I am able, and I make more money than after 27 years in retaiul pharmacy.

They also do offer a program called Success Promise, which guarantees a refund if a graduate has not found a job within 6 months time!!  So they do stand behind their training!!!

At Home Professions gave me the training I needed to have the ability to work a job that I really enjoy and make a good living doing it!!!

I highly recommend At Home Professions!!!

Tremendous Success With At-Home Professions

AUTHOR: Kelly S. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 11, 2013

If At-Home Professions was a scam, do you think they would still be in business? Nope! I took the medical transcription course from At-Home Professions 14 years ago. After I graduated from the course, I followed their job-seeking tips and advice and I was able to find a job in a very short time! I have been working successfully in the medical transcription industry for 13 years now...all thanks to At-Home Professions!

I originally attended a seminar and everything said in that seminar turned out to be the absolute truth. At-Home professions does not make false promises.

If someone attends a 4-year college and cannot find work after graduating, is the college to blame? No, it isn't. The responsibility lies within the student or graduate. There are a lot of jobs out there to be had, but they aren't going to just fall into your lap. You have to go out and seek employment and use your resources. At-Home Professions has a Graduate Referral Department that can assist with these types of issues. They will not find a job for you, but they will give you the resources to do so yourself.

It is a sad reflection on our society that so many are quick to place blame elsewhere when in truth, you should hold yourself accountable. If the meal you are cooking turns out badly, do you blame the grocery store where you bought the food? If you have a car accident and you are at fault, do you blame the car dealership?

The bottom line is, At-Home provides an education that can lead to many wonderful opportunities. What you choose to do wth that education is up to you.

medical transcription

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 07, 2013

I also took the medical transcription course so I could work at home.  It took almost a year for me to complete before I got my certificate.  No one told me that when I completed the course I would not be able to find a job.  Every place that wanted a medical transcriptionist wanted someone with experience.  I would be nice if At Home Professions would give referrals after completing the course.  I wasted a year of my time and money.

Money-Back Guarantee

AUTHOR: Brie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 11, 2013

Ruthanna - You said "They don't guarantee that we'll find a job. They can only do all they can to help us find one. We took the course, we pay for it, and we look for a job. If we can't find one they are not responsible to return the money. It's just like going to college and after finishing the 4 years we go out and look for a job in what we majored in. Can't get hired for ajob in it? The college doesn't re-emburse us. "

But it's not true. I went to their seminar last night, and not only did she say AND put in writing on the big screen that if we are unable to find work from this training, they'll refund us our money "EVERY CENT" (she said that part twice and emphasized it), but she later said AND put in writing on the big screen that if we are unable to find work from this training WITHIN SIX MONTHS, they'll refund the entire tuition.

I totally agreed with your post before I went to the seminar, but they absolutely do guarantee you'll get work from this training. To not only not refund her money, as promised, but to be unwilling to forgive the rest of her payments when they had a money-back guarantee makes this company awfully suspect in my book. Which is a big disappointment.

I took the Legal Transcription course pre1990

AUTHOR: dmchook - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 28, 2012

and am still working as a scopist today.  I was very pleased with what I learned through At Home Professions.  The court reporting industry has changed dramatically over the past 20 yrs so like any industry you have to keep up.  Also, as with any business, it takes time to build it.  I completed the course and it took me a year to find ONE client, but it was a start.  That was in 1990.  Clients come and go but many I have currently are 10+ years.  Nothing happens overnight.  The program gives training.  It's up to you to make a business out of it.

At Home Professions

AUTHOR: Ruthanna - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, September 16, 2011

After reading the complaints about AHP I still want to continue my studies with them. They are an acredited member of the BBB and have a good rating. They tell us in the seminar that we have to pay for the courses ordered. But if we quit, at say, course 3, and have not ordred the rest, we don't have to pay for 4 and 5 too. We just have to continue making payments until the courses we ordered are paid. That makes sense.

They don't guarantee that we'll find a job. They can only do all they can to help us find one. We took the course, we pay for it, and we look for a job. If we can't find one they are not responsible to return the money. It's just like going to college and after finishing the 4 years we go out and look for a job in what we majored in. Can't get hired for a job in it? The college doesn't re-emburse us.

Even if I can't find a job in it I'll be happy to have learned the information. As far as being too good to be true, I don't see that at all. It's not high pay really, but it has work at home possibilities in the end. We have to work hard for it, study, and do our part. It's not a fortune story where we get rich quick and don't have to do anything for it. We have to work hard and if we can get a job doing it, it pays a resonable price but not so high that it's a "too-good-to-be-true" thing. So I don't quite see how it seems that way to some.

At any rate, I've enjoyed it. It is very challanging and takes hard study. I can't say I'm doing too good at it right now, but I'm trying. Circumstances have slowed me down considerably but I plan on finishing, God willing.

I appreciate their willingness to work with us and set up a do-able payment plan!

Thanks AHP!

Total rip off...they are money hungry

AUTHOR: Jeanne - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I also was sold when I heard about the conference advertised on the radio. I enrolled in the medical transcription course and completed in within six months. That was April of 2009, I have yet to find employment in the transcription industry. I have contacted At-Home Professions several times regarding this issue. I have taken all of their suggestions including completely changing my resume and nothing has worked. I am still paying them each month for my tuition. I wrote a letter to the Director of Student Services explaining my situation and asking for forgiveness on my payments and a possible refund. I was denied. I have to finish paying them for a certificate that has yet to find me work. I have tried everything. I have applied to several transcription companies and have even marketed myself as an independent contractor and nothing has worked. They say they have a starter kit that helps graduates seek employment, that kit does not work. I will advise anyone who is considering this school to think really hard and talk to some transcription companies before spending the almost $3,000 for the course. It is a waste of money and time. It's been almost two years since I finished the course, have no work to show for it and yet have to continue to pay them each month. Please be aware of this company.
