All consumers please beware of this company. You are not buying a car, you're leasing. But you won't find out until after you gave them your down payment and when it's time to sign the paperwork.

Purchased a vehicle from them because my car just broke down and they said they could get me into a vehicle. Got me into a vehicle but they didn't tell me that I was leasing it for 3 years and that there a GPS system on this vehicle. Didn't even tell me the price of the vehicle one showed me 3 options of what I could be paying. Been driving the vehicle lately but I keep putting it into the shop the past 3 months. Now the vehicle wouldn't start and I make my payments on time. Calling the sales rep that sold me the vehicle all he keep saying is that it a used vehicle. Regardless if its a used vehicle shouldn't be in the shop for 3 months straight. Come to find out the 3rd my vehicle is in the shop is because of their GPS system was malfunctioning that wouldn't let me start the car. Call them to let them aware of the problem and they didn't even get back to me, I had to call them. Jennifer in was very rude about it, telling me how much the GPS system cost them but I pay more than that in a month.

I learned my lesson regardless how bad I need a vehicle. Sure won't be go back or recommend this car dealership to no on. Their selling practices should be illegal.

COMPLETELY AGREED

AUTHOR: Gravy - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 02, 2010

My fiance and I went to this place because he was in a tight spot and needed a vehicle. The guy that works there as a sales rep. is a complete idiot!!! (guy with long curly hair) I was going to cosign for my fiance and I have a 2,200 balance over due on an old school loan, the sales rep tells me i should file for bankruptcy. First off your a used car salesmen not a financial adviser, and I'm not taking any financial advise from a used car salesmen. We had more than anough money in our account to purchase a vehicle and after listening to the sales rep contradict himself left and right, him not allowing us to look at any cars and had this attitude as if we Had!!! to go through him. I told him we didn't have any money right now and needed to wait, my fiance looked at me like I was crazy but went with it and we left. I told my fiance in the car that there is something wrong with the whole situation and I didn't have a good feeling. My fiance was a bit frustrated at me but I told him to keep his options open.

My fiance wanted to go back a few days later and I didn't like the place and had a bad feeling but he said he would just keep stopping in every so often to see if there is a vehicle he liked that they just gone in, and once he saw something he liked we'd get it. So we took the extra money we had sitting in the account and used it to fix some things wrong with my car (that was a pretty 1,250.00 dollar bill) considering we have a big income we knew once we saw a vehicle we liked, at the worst we might have to wait til the next payday for the downpayment.

well everytime we stopped in he continued with the "This is your only option" attitude and kept talking about how they are the best. Well My fiance and I had acouple of weeks of a ruff time and we didn't know if we would stay together. My fiance drove by autobility and saw a truck he really liked and wanted it, it was about 3 or 4 days out from payday and we decided that we would use my engagement ring as the down payment seeing how they "say" they accept things of value as downpayments, and we decided that if later we see that we will stay together we would just get me a bigger ring later(my ring now is a little over a carat and we wanted a 2 carat)

My fiance called and asked the long curly haired salesmen and he said yes that they could use it as a down payment. So I took it in and He acted like I was asking the world of him to accept this ring and he took it to the back and then came back and said well can you go pawn it and bring back the money?? and I said no you advertise you accept things of value as downpayments ( i mean the accept DVD'S come on now ) and he said yeah but your fiance said he was going to come on friday with the down payment then you show up with a ring, looking at me as if I was a fool. So I got mad and said you guys advertise you will accept things of value, and you knew we were bringing in a ring and then you treat me like i'm stupid when i come in with it like you didn't even know, i know my fiance called you about it. well he just stood there with a dumb look on his face and I walked out. At this point I told mark he could go other places and get a truck but he didn't want to listen and said no it seems like they are offering him a great deal and he was already approved and he wanted to go through them.

So my fiance said he would go up there and I went with and stayed in the car, he went and talked to them and came back out and said ok they will take the ring and then the sales guy walked out and changed his story again (which he did just about everytime we went in there) and said we can accept the ring until you bring us the money on friday and then you can just take the ring back. So my fiance who was really tired of not having a vehicle and I knew he blamed me because i didn't feel comfortable doing business through them said yes that was fine. The sales rep then turned to me when i was sitting in my car and asked if I was ready to say sorry to him, I wanted to blow up on him but i didn't and said no i'm not, everytime we come in here you change your story and say one thing then change it 5 minutes later you advertise one thing and don't honor it and I'm sick of it. He then goes to tell my fiance that the payments on the truck would be 100 a week which was another story change, well maybe but he never said they only offer weekly payments I swear he said monthly the whole time before. I did the math on the payments with the down payment and they were trying to charge 16,000.00 dollars for a 2000 beat up chevy my fiance liked for some reason

So my fiance test drove the truck and he didn't like it Thank God!!! Oh and they guy came out right before we test drove it and said hey you got 5 minutes and you can't take it home tonight because we don't have time to do the paperwork and if your not back they are locking me out and leaving me sitting outside for you to get back with the key so please hurry. Which was another annoying factor on my end. "sorry to bother you and ask you to do your job while your at your JOB and make you a sale considering you work of commission, I'm sooo sorry" So anyways my fiance didn't like the truck and we left and I begged him to go car shopping on my next day off with me and he said yes. so we went a few different places, Our last stop was Autocity Those guys there are AWSOME!! They offered in house financing but also bank financing as well. Very easy going guys very funny and we were laughing and joking the whole time, my fiance found a truck that he fell completely in love with, they got us bank financing and I didn't need to cosign. and the whole experience was great and my fiance got a really nice truck he really liked and that i liked as well. So beware of autobilitly!!! No matter how much the long curly haired sales rep acts like he has you by strings and he is doing you the biggest favor, and acts like you have to bare to their terms because you can't go anywhere else, do fall into it!!!! they are horrible and he lies and changes his story every minute. and obviously from the story above my fiance and I weren't even half way through the lying and story changing. You have options you always have options so don't make him feel like you don't and avoid autobility!!!!

 Go To Autocity!

they are great, better cars better pay options and they will treat you like a person and be friendly.

Jessica

What does your written contract say?

AUTHOR: MovingForward - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 28, 2010

How is it that you signed paperwork on this "purchase" and did not know that it was a lease rather than a purchase?

I am no fan of any car dealer at all because they do pull every trick in the book when selling you a vehicle. BUT, how can you sign your name to anything without reading it first? Why would you sign your name a commit to monthly payments and not know all the rest of the terms?

If you don't understand a contract - walk away or bring it to your attorney to review and explain BEFORE you sign. Don't take the word of the sales representative. He is looking out for his own pocket. PROTECT YOURSELF. You need to look out for your own wallet. Your best defense is walking away when the F&I guy starts his games.

As to the GPS system not working, isn't that the whole point of the dealer putting in the GPS system to keep you "in line" with your payments?  If you need to buy a vehicle that has one of those type systems, then reconsider your standards and buy a beater for cash without one of those GPS systems. That way at least no one is turning off the car on you - either on purpose or by error. You can upgrade your vehicle as you get additional cash saved. No one then has the power to stop your engine since you own it free and clear.
