It use to be that Best Buy really truly was a Best Buy, but now after a recent bad shoping and defective product purchase and no Refund policy..... It's a Worst Buy you could ever make. On 12/26/13 at 10:47am my wife decides to go to local Best Buy and make a purchase of a pc game sim-city which was $39.99 plus tax $ 3.30. $43.29. Shortly after purchase she went home to try to install game on her desk top computer during install an error message repeatly showeda up error 23 and product would not continue the down load process. Needless to say she was not able to play the game. After try effortlessly to contact to a person at EA customer service it was nothing more than a recording and then hang up. She packed up her game and returned to the store a few hours later the same day 12/26/13 3:30pm. When she arrived she explianed to customer service which is thier Geek Squad what hade happened and asked for a cash refund being the purchase was made with cash this same day. They explained that because the product had been opened they could not give her a refund of her money. They told her the only thing they could do for her is an exchange. But she didnt want a exchange she wanted a refund of her money. So she took a less then desireable exhhe is exchange.

Please don't shop at this $ 50 billion dollar scam corperation because if you do you might take a bigger loss of money in a Rip-off corperation. Boycott Boycott Boycott also refer to corperate compliants.com / best buy and you will find 497 compliants filed agianst Best Buy Similar to mine since 2011.

"Please don't shop at this $ 50 billion dollar scam corperation"  When you exaggerate something, you go all the way, don't you.  BTW, it's $50 billion dollar CORPORATION.  IF they truly were a "$50 BILLION dollar CORPORATION, they would be part of my investment portfolio.  NO Ripoff here. I'll continue doing business with them as I'm not as stupid as you are.

This is standard policy.  You can't return opened software anywhere.  If the disk is truely defective, you an exchange it for the exact same title.

Having been a PC tech for 15 years, I can tell you the game is not defective.  Error 23 means that the Windows Installer service on your PC is jacked up.  So don't blame Best Buy or EA for this.

Nonreturnable Items

  • Labor, delivery and/or completed Geek Squad® installation services
  • Some prepaid cards, digital subscriptions or services
  • Consumable items such as food, drinks and batteries
  • Ink/Toner cartridges that have had their factory sealed packaging opened
  • Items that are damaged or abused
  • Items that are missing accessories such as remote controls, cords and cables
  • Etched or otherwise personalized items
  • Opened computer software, movies, music and video games can be exchanged for the identical item but cannot be returned for a refund

No rip off here - they told  you that they could exchange the item therefore you were not ripped off! PS Learn how to SPELL! Just because there are reports about Best Buy here does not mean that they are a ripoff and as for their 50 billion dollar revenue where did you get your facts? Best Buy ended the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $1,910 million, long-term debt of $1,634 million and shareholders’ equity of $3,605 million.
