Big Red Box is a huge scam. Stay away from these crooks who act as a nationwide company but are based in Charleston South Carolina. They WILL not deliver your dumpster then call and try to charge you more to get it out if you absolutely need it. Otherwise they tell you its fine to cancel and you just have to sign these documents.

THIS IS A HUGE SCAM. DO NOT SIGN THE DOCUMENTS. They do this to charge you a cancellation fee and the charge for the dumpster and since you have signed it you have no recourse. The village idiot and con artist PJ is the man you must avoid at all COSTS. They will scam you and threaten you. GOOGLE Big Red Box Dumpster Rental Complaints and see what is online about them. THIS IS NOT ETHICAL. They also say that they have offices in Jacksonville Florida Houston Texas Detroit Michigan, California and New York. They are not licensed or registered to do business in those states and are running a pump and dump scam. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM BIG RED BOX BASED OUT OF CHARLESTON YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Reply from Budget Dumpster

AUTHOR: Budget Dumpster - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 18, 2014

My name is John Matthews, I'm one of the owners of Budget Dumpster (budgetdumpster.com).  We too are a broker.  I am writing to inform the Big Red Box Dumpster company and the public that we DID NOT write the original complaint submitted by "budget-d".  This was not a "broker reporting a broker" as stated.

We have our own account name established as "Budget Dumpster" and would have had no need to create a ficticous name called budget-d. We created this account some time ago to reply to a negative complaint against our company.

It is my belief, of which I am nearly certain, that whomever wrote this complaint wanted it to appear as though it came from my company, Budget Dumpster, probably in an effort to create a riff between my firm and the BRB company. And by reading the most recent post (#7) their intentions worked.

I want the owners and employees at BRB to know that we have never and will never egnage in this type activity. I have nothing but respect for the BRB company even though we are competitors in the same space. I have ALWAYS been a firm believe that this type of activity only invites and brings about more of the same from the acusee and creates  a very mess, unproductive, unethical, unprofessional mess.

To summarize, if we wanted to leave a fake negative review about anyone, why wouldn't we use our original handle "Budget Dumpster", and choose to insinuate oursleves by creating another account with the same name essentially . It would make sense to either use a completely ficticous name with no ties to our company whatsoever, or use our real name.  It makes zero sense and wreaks of shadiness and dishonesty.

I would be more than open to speak with any owner or manager at the BRB company to clear up our name and to assure avyone that we had no part in this at all.

No One Takes Shills Seriously

AUTHOR: Ray - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 06, 2014

No one, sir, no one--believes that someone like yourself who lurks around certain postings is anything but a shill.   You cannot convince anyone of your neutrality, for your venomous attacks upon those who tell the truth about their dealings with this company give you away.   Why should you care unless you have a vested interest in that company?   No one would come off with such personal, vehement attacks unless he or she had attachments to that company.   Tell me, do they pay you to watch this site and post infantile comments when people justifiably complain about your employer?   You seem to know a lot about this company works to have no affiliation with them.   If you are not actually employed by them, you surely have a close relative who is working for them--perhaps the owner.   In any event, no one sees you as just an innocent bystander who is trying to play devil's advocate for a firm to which he supposedly has no ties.   I am sorry, sir, but it just doesn't pass the common sense test.   And it smells.

Shill This

AUTHOR: Shill on this - ()

In response to the very "Shilleey" response. I am not a big red box. You sound like a horrible customer and your temerity and audacity to make crazy posts on here is unacceptable. You still did not admit that you may have been properly charged. I will have you know that I am not a high school dropout and I do know English. I have a very nice mirror that I may have been able to purchase thanks to a $299.50 purchase as it was the best mirror on sale at my local Kroger.

Also I tend to sleep very well on a temperpedic mattress. Have you tried one? It is quite soothing and is great for your back. If you have not then I highly suggest you attempt to purchase one. There is corruption all over the world and you are the biggest Shill. So go Shill out with your big red box dumpster rental complaints.

Shills for Big Red Box Monitoring this Site

AUTHOR: Ray - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 06, 2014

I see that one of the shills for Big Red Box is monitoring this site, and accused me of "being the worse customer ever" because I had the temerity and audacity to refute a fraudulent overcharge!    Appears this shill is probably a high school dropout as he/she doesn't know proper English.   Tell you what, Shill, why don't you go back to that company of yours and tell them they won't be getting away with their shyster business practices for very much longer, and that they had better clean up their act!    How people like you can even look at yourself in the mirror or sleep at night is beyond me.   I saw all the corruption I ever wanted to see in Afghanistan--what a shame to see such corruption at work right here in the States!

Response from big red dumpster should be:

AUTHOR: Ticked off customer - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 05, 2014

That you are the worse customer ever. Wow Who would ever want to do business with you with a b.s. complaint like that. You are going to sue and send the owners to jail over $299.50 that was probably properly billed to you? Wow. Next time go haul all the junk to the dump yourself and then come back and apologize for wasting my time for reading about your nonsense.

Most Unethical Company I Have Ever Encountered

AUTHOR: Ticked Off Customer - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 05, 2014

I contracted with The Big Red Box in good faith to get one of their containers in Jonesboro, GA, so I could get rid of some unneeded household items.

The dumpster was delivered at approximately 2 p.m., substantially later than the morning delivery that was promised.   On July 15, 2014, the dumpster company retrieved the dumpster.   It should be noted that The Big Red Box apparently subcontracted this job to James Dumpsters in Georgia.   The statement given to us by James Dumpsters lists an invalid website, www.jaimesdumpsters.com.

The agreed-upon tonnage for trash to be placed in the dumpster was two tons, or 4,000 pounds.   I do not believe that this weight limit was exceeded.   All that was placed in the dumpster was an old sofa, two recliners, some old books, obsolete file folders (two file drawers’ worth) and clothes and assorted miscellaneous items that came from the living room and two bedrooms.   The dumpster was only three-fourths full when it was picked up.   No particularly heavy items were placed in the dumpster.

The dumpster was picked up by James Dumpsters at 1:37 p.m. on July 15, 2014.   According to the weigh bill, the container was taken to a weigh station at College Park, GA.  Twenty-three days after the dumpster was picked up, I was billed $299.50 (over the $425.00 original charge) with the “justification” that my items placed in the dumpster had totaled 7.99 tons, or nearly 5 tons over the 2-ton limit!    Now we are talking about a gross error—to suppose that I placed 15,980 pounds of household items in the container is simply beyond the realm of possibility.   That is the amount a normal household would have in furniture and goods for a complete move!    I know--because I moved about 10 times in the military, and was once right against my weight allowance of around 17,000 pounds!

Anyone who is considering contracting with this company should read the reviews on Yelp.com, Yellow Pages.com, InsiderPages.com, etc., and the reviews all tell the same story:  about three weeks after the dumpster is picked up, the customer is hit with outrageous overcharges for "being overweight."   And never, ever does the company relent and do the right thing by retracting the overcharges.

When you contact The Big Red Box for resolution, you are stonewalled.   They will tell you, "Yep, that's what it weighed, all right," or add something really stupid like, "Maybe your neighbors filled it up when you weren't around."

I am prepared to go to litigation with this company--and hit them with punitive damages.   I have never before encountered a company with such unethical business practices.

I have some news for The Big Red Box:   if you try to keep that $299.50, I will do my best to expose your business practices for what they are, and do my best to see that your company's owners go to jail!

Broker reporting Broker

AUTHOR: Big Red Box Employee - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, October 01, 2014

Budget-d, aka budgetdumpster.com, conducts the same type of business that we do and is very familiar with the process.  They contacted our company to order a dumpster in Lansing, MI and was given a price of $350.  We did call back initially to let them know that we would need $400 for the area in which they were ordering the dumpster, however, we called again shortly following to say that we could in fact deliver at the $350 price and we had them on schedule for delivery and to call if they had any questions.  The customer never returned either of our phone calls.  The customer instead called the local hauler to cancel our order and book directly through them as they are also a broker.  They did this in an attempt to avoid the cancellation fee that is clearly stated in the service agreement sent to them.  When our sales manager, Noel, spoke with the customer he used profanity and stated he was going to dispute his charge.  Noel tried to explain to him that as a broker he understood the time that went into arranging, and now cancelling, the order and he should do the honorable thing.  He continued to use profanity and the call was ended.  The customer disputed the credit card charge, which we did not challenge, and was issued a full refund.  Our company is NOT a scam and conducts the same type of business as budgetdumpster.com, who are also probably not located in North Charleston.  We have done nothing unethical, we are not crooks and the fact that  a fellow business would attack one of our sales representatives in this manner says everything one needs to know about their character, not ours.

This is a complaint about a broker, from a broker.  Just like you will see complaints about budget dumpster from other brokers out there.

We do not do business this way, and do not want to be a part of it.
