I uploaded 500$ to my card and on the second day I went to purchase tires for my car and the transaction did not go through. The tire place said that the first transaction did not go through (he printed off his batch and showed me no charge) but when I called BLuebird they told me they were holding the amount (pending) I asked if they could release it to the tire place and they said no because they have to make sure its  not fraud! WHAAAT!! SO MY AVAILABLE BALANCE SAID $0 BUT BY BALANCE WAS PENDING SO MY MONEY IS JUST IN LIMBO AND NO ONE HAS IT!! NONE THE LESS THE CAR PLACE WOULD NOT LET ME TAKE MY CAR UNTIL THEY WERE PAID I had to call my brother to pay by phone so that I could get my car. As soo as i receive my permanent card in the mail I am withdrawing my fund and cxling!!  This company is horrible DO NOT GET THIS CARD!! ITS TOO MUCH OF AN HEADACHE i NOW HAVE TO WAIT 8 DAYS FOR THE PAYMENT TO CLEAR!!

That sucks for you and I'd be upset too.

I have to tell you though that I love this card.  I've just got it a few weeks ago and I own a small business and I have poor credit. 

I don't need it but I use it as an "extra personal no fee checking account"

For those who can't get a checking account for whatever reason this product is wonderful....it really is.

I love the features and it's amazing to me that I can go to Walmart and load it up for FREE!  I have a Walmart Money card (use it for online purchases) and I pay $3 to add cash to that one and all that card is, is a prepaid visa.  

The Bluebird is essentially a checking account with a savings attached to it and it comes with  checking and routing numbers.

I gave the info to Living Social for my last marketing campaign and they wired the money they owed me directly into it!  Plus you can carry a balance of up to $100,000 unlike the few grand the Walmart and others allow.

You get a check book and can deposit checks via smart phone.

I've connected it to my business account and Charles Schwab acct to transfer to and from if I want to and I use the built in savings account for an emergency fund.

They have a bill payment feature etc  ALL FREE.

As for the customer service in India, for the most part I was impressed or at least never had a problem, with one exception (kind of)

When I set up my "wire to me" info with my Living Social merchant account I just gave them the routing and checking number that bluebird gave me (they are like groupon for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about.  My business sold coupons on Living Social and they sent me the money I made to my bluebird acct) 

I was excited to set that up and was eagerly awaiting the funds to appear in my account. When I called to ask customer service if they could see any pending transactions that might be hitting my acct soon, and explained what I did and what I was waiting for.  He told me that only direct deposits from employers would work for what I was trying to do.  I told him that I just gave my routing and checking number just like I did with my regular bank account and that i did not see why it would not work?  He said it would most likely get declined.

That really bummed me out, the money was due on the the next day and it was about 9pm but after midnight on the east coast so i was just being an excited idiot and checking the balance every 12 seconds until he "crapped all over my party"  BUT  not 20 minutes later I got an email saying my deposit or funding just happened or whatever.

It was all there!

I've never had a problem and I would recommend the heck out of it to anyone that might not have a checking account or have a credit problem etc.

plus you can get sub cards for kids spouse to use FREE  JUST ABOUT EVERY d**n FEATURE IS FREE WITH THIS THING!  If your child is 13 and up, maybe in another state?  You can get money to them for free instantly.

I must sound like I work for them or something lol  I don't, I just really like the card and the features and I don't want someone who could really benefit from it to get turned of because of the bad experience that this gentleman had, or the other who had the hold put on at the gas pump.  Bluebird even talks about that situation somewhere (I think FAQ) and says to pay at the cashier to avoid the station placing a hold.

I always do that when using a debit card because I hate holds on my real money....on my credit card with high limit  I don't care because I won't notice anyway.

I hope this rant helps anyone out there who may be considering this card because I can't believe I took the time to do this lol  I should sell the d**n thing for AMEX ha ha.
