First, and foremost, you need to understand that I'm a senior citizen, on social security, with very limited income. So I have to be very careful of how I manage my finances. Also, you should know that I have Parkinsons desease which led me to order these books in the first place.

Somewhere in the middle of November (2008) I logged on to my computer and a small picture of Hugh Downs on the right side of my browser caught my attention. After reading the small headliner it appeared that he was endorsing a set of three books from a book company called, "Bottom Line Books."

After reading more of the editorial it was apparent that Mr. Downs was indeed endorsing these three books. These books were medical or health related to breakthroughs, from some research firm, that certain natural remedies could prevent or cure existing health conditions. Among their list of ailments Parkinsons was listed, which really got my attention.

I only went into this much detail to show how this crooked company uses a very crafty marketing program to get you hooked. If they had not had Hugh Downs' full endorsement, I would not have ordered the books. I will never trust any endorsement by anyone ever again.

Anyway, I ordered the books online. I didn't have to pay for the books at the time of placing the order, there would be a bill enclosed with the books when they arrive. It also stated that I could pay the $39.99 + 7.95 shph all at once, or in three easy payments of $15.98, I chose the payment plain.

On December 2, 2008 I sent my first payment of $15.98 by check. Today I logged on to my browser, went to my online banking to check my account and found a withdrawel for $47.94, the full amount of the bill for the books. I was shocked, how could they take a check written for $15.98 and turn it into $47.94? The only explanation that I can think of is that Bottom Line Books must have done a electronic check transaction without my knowledge or approval, being that they had my check with the account number and routing numbers, with my bank.

This transaction has got to be against the law not to mention unethical business practices. This transaction by Bottom Line Books may have thrown my bank account into an overdraft condition, not to mention has just flat spoiled my Xmas. I'll be lucky if I can afford a McD's hamburger for Xmas dinner, this isn't a joke its for real. The people that operate Bottom Line Books are the lowest type of scum that America has to offer and my advice to anyone that is about to have any dealings with them is to, run, don't walk, but run as fast as you can to get away from them.

I plan to pursue this to its fullest, I have my copy check and this company has stolen money from my bank account and I will not rest until they are prosecuted.

Your Ripoff tipoff is in Your ROR Text...

AUTHOR: Chris Long - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 13, 2008

The poster typed: "These books were medical or health related to breakthroughs, from some research firm, that certain natural remedies could prevent or cure existing health conditions. Among their list of ailments Parkinsons was listed, which really got my attention."

The above quotation is the tipoff to a ripoff. ripoff keywords: "Breakthrough", "natural remedies", "...cure existing health conditions" [and] Parkinson's.

There is no known cure for Parkinson's and any 'breakthrough' with respect to the degenerative brain disease would be ALL OVER THE NEWS AND IN THE MEDIA !

Seen any news reports about the "natural" cures the books cited ?

Your money is LOST and, hopefully, you are a bit wiser, after having fallen for one of the most common scams - you need to stay OFF the Internet...
