Carnival Cruise line gained access to my credit card and charged it for a cruise without authority from me. I never recieved service/sailed with the.

I booked a cruise with a cruise company in Grenada. I gave my credit card number as a deposit. About three weeks later I decided that I was no longer traveling and told this to the cruise company in Grenada.

They said I would lose my deposit so I asked to transfer it to brother-in-law and continued paying. They waited untill two weeks before the cruise date, and when the cruise was paid for in full to advise me that the cruise could not be transfer nor cancelled. I did not collect the cruise tickets and demanded my money back.

I never dealt with Carnival Curise Line. I dealt with the local cruise copmany who never communicated to me a cancellation policy. I did not know one existed and the terms. When I requested the cancellation four months prior to the sail date accouring to Carnival Cancellation Policy I was entilted to a partial refund. But I knew nothing of it. I was not told that a name change is allowed...I was told it could NOT be transfered to my brother-in-law. Carnival Cruise Line is now presenting a letter written to me, by them dated two days prior to the sail date saying my request for cancellation is too late and I now have no opportunity for a partial refund. This is fraud! My request to the cruise company was made four months earlier and I never recieved said letter from them of the local company.

But worst of all I never gave my credit card information to Carnival Cruise and never authorized them to charge it. They cannot show written nor verbal authority to use my card.

So

Just how did Carnival get your Credit Card number?  Did they take a lucky guess and just put a string of 16 numbers together that just happen to be the same as your card?

Of course not, they got your number from the CRUISE COMPANY.  If you spent the time and looked back at the paper work you signed..yes all of the fine print matters.  You will probably find that you did give this "Cruise Company" this authorization to do that.

So again your issue is not only what appears to not only the misinformation about being able to transfer and the delay in sending the cancellation.  It now according to you is that they gave Carnival your Credit Card Number without your permission.  The interesting thing is that this "Cruise Company" seems like it may be legitimate and had you not tried any changes and went on the cruise you probably would have been just fine.

Of course you are still going to somehow think that Carnival did something wrong(and believe me I am not fan of Carnival and won't sail on their ships), but nothing you posted here shows they did anything wrong.  So if you ever get anything back from them consider yourself lucky.

I used the cruise company in Grenada because I was traveling with a group from Grenada. The

Cruise company coordinated the cruise.

I cannot go after the cruise company because they didnot charge my card. I am disputing the charge and Carnival charged my card.I never authorized them to use my card!

Wrong Company

Your problem isn't with Carnival, from what you wrote here your problem is with the "Cruise Company".  Most likely in dealing with this "Cruise Company" you agreed to allow Carnival to charge the amounts.

Also, you show you are from Boston.  So why in the world would you deal with a company in another Country(yes Grenada is not in the US), when there are not only dozens of companies in the US but you could deal with Carnival Directly?    Unfortunately, when issues like this come up trying to go after the company in another Country is very difficult to impossible.  So if you are just going after what you think is the "easier" company..in the end it probably won't do you any good.....sorry.
