Cavalry Portfolio Services And Sprint PCS Failure to verify debt and invalid dates Hawthorne New York

I have been battling a mark from Cavalry Portfolio for years. They bought a debt I had with Sprint from 2002. They marked the debt as having been incurred in 2004! And the following year they changed it to 2005! Now, the "estimated time of removal" has changed from 2009 to 2011 because of their failure to accurately report.

Moreover, Sprint cannot even provide me the details of this debt, and cannot validate it. When I informed someone at Sprint that this was illegal (as per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) she told me "No it isnt!" in a sarcastic snide tone, and then she proceeded to tell me the debt was sold to Cavalry in 2003. When I asked her why my credit report shows 2004, she didn't have an answer except to say "i apologize for the misreporting".. WHAT?! They have been sued for this sort of action before, and yet they never learn. They have called me and asked for my social security number prior to idenifying the purpose of the call (which violates sec 807, sub 10 & 11 of the FDCPA). I refused to volunteer that information, and the rep asked me "don't you want to know why we already have it?". I hung up. Something needs to be done about this- I thought I was alone, but I see all these cases and stories, and it appears that they are shady people that take pleasure in ruining someone's credit, in this case for an unverifiable $300
