I've had nothing but trouble with this bank since my divorce. I have had chronic migraines over the last 5 years and was lucky to even take my kids to school. I'm not so great at my banking account either, but the two women at this bank seem to have it out for me or maybe people that just don't have a lot of money. I live on $2,500 a month right now and thats not much, but I'm job hunting all the time.

I received a check from a company that owed me $4300.  I went to deposit it and since the check didn't scan, I was told it wasn't real. I guess they thought I was trying to scam them.  So they put the $4,300 check on hold for 2 weeks--I had bills to pay, but there was nothing I could do.  Nine days later, I called the bank the check was written from. The check had cleared. I called and asked the Jackie the manager here in Cloverdale to call the bank in Utah to confirm this. She refused. She said it could be any number she was calling and it could be a scam--I suggested she look it up online, she still refused. Two days later, I talked to the manager (Steve) of the bank in Utah (the one who wrote the check), he couldn't believe what they were putting me through and called Linda (assistant manager). Steve said they finally agreed to take it off hold, and  that he couldn't believe she was a manager. She told him all kinds of information about me (I bounce checks all the time, who knows what else.. etc....) Really tacky and unprofessional. Steve said he would take all his money out of this bank and run...... They

Recently, I received 3 checks from my parents for my kids to buy school clothes. One check to each kid and one B-Day check. I put them in my account in Santa Rosa (50 miles away). I asked the Chase teller, "Are these on hold?" She said no. But what do you know, 2-3 days later, all 7 purchases I had made for school clothing has NSF's @ $33 each because someone put a hold on them.

The other thing my bank does and I know other banks do is when your balance goes to zero, your bank goes ahead and puts thru your purchase and then charges you the NSF or $33 for me. They keep doing it until you realize you have no money and if you're like me, terrible with money it happens a lot. I am really trying to do better with my money because I have to have a bank card to pay my bills.  As soon as this gets resolved, I will be changing my account to another bank.

All I want is two things. One, my money credited back into my account. They held my checks and told me directly (the teller from Santa Rosa) that MYCHECKS WERE NOT BEING HELD. Two - three days later, I had a hold on all three checks. I want my $231 dollars credited back to my account. Number two, I want these managers to treat everyone, even people that don't make a lot of money to be treated equally.  If this isn't handled, I will go to the corporate office. I know a lot of people are tired of being treated differently just because they don't make as much money as the next person.............

I WONDER IF THE BANKS PROCESS THE CHECKS THEY RECEIVE AFTER THE 'DEATH SWEEPS' ARE....

performed, & they receive their 'benefit checks' from the insurance company where they took out 'SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES' on their current & former employees?

'Google' this- JP MORGAN CHASE COMPLAINTS SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES, and read that article about- JP Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, & others, who were taking out these 'SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES' on their own employees, and then collecting the benefits when they DIED!

*SPREAD THIS ALL OVER THE WEB at sites like- 'TWITTER' & 'FACEBOOK'.

Thank you.

You do need to be more careful woth your banking...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - (U.S.A.)

...especially  now that you should be fully aware the way these banks operate..they don't care about your financial hardship or that you admit you have trouble with your "banking account"..all they care about is how much money they can take from you..so please stop leaving the opportunity open for them..that is your responsibility once you understand the way they operate.

With that said..I am no expert on banking myself..but there are some tactics the bank uses that I believe are "less then ethical...such as with re sequencing and "manipulating" transaction so you will receive overdraft fees for transactions that actually had the funds at the time of transaction..so therefore should NOT have been subject to overdraft fee(s). If you feel you were a victim of this google "Finkelstein Thompson LLP" you can find out how to contact them to help with an "investigation. As well..some strange things they do with checking..for example...

It is technically illegal for a bank not to process withdrawals first. But they get around this by having a "2-3 day waiting period" for deposits. Why does this matter? Because of electronic checking. You may not realize it, but when you write a check these days, it doesn't work like it did in the past. The check information is entered into a computer, and is immediately sent to your bank. It doesn't take two or three days for the check to find its way through the bank's systems before someone enters the information. By the time you bag your groceries, the bank already has the check in electronic form.

And why does this matter? In the first place, it belies the notion that various transactions come in at different times of day and therefore it's OK that the check you wrote at 9am is processed after the one you wrote at 2pm. In the second, think about what this means. The bank can instantaneously take money out of your account, without running it through a clearing process, but the check that you deposit to the bank, despite being entered into their systems right away, takes "2-3 days to process."

It's frankly a load of bunk. If the bank wanted to it could process the deposit check immediately by electronically sending the check to the bank of whoever wrote it, just like the grocery store does with your check. But, it's not in the bank's best interest to do that, because then your deposit would cover transactions that they could otherwise charge you NSF fees for.

Your Checks Weren't Held - Time to Give Up

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 24, 2009

The fact you deposit a check doesn't mean the check is available immediately because it is NOT available.  The check is not on hold either.  The deposit sits in pending until the bank processes all transactions sometime later in the day or early next morning.  If you deposit a check, and them start using your ATM, you WILL overdraw your account.  You need to learn that deposits are not made available immediately to you - it doesn't mean it's on hold (BTW - so that you clearly understand because I know you don't...if something is on hold, it means the deposit is unavailable for more thn 24 hours.  If something is pending, it means it isn't available until the next business day.  There is a difference).

All of this is disclosed in the terms and conditions of your account.  You should also know that ALL banks operate in an identical matter; in other words, this would have happened to you at BofA, Chase, Citibank, 5/3, Union, and any local and national bank out there.  The only difference is the name out front.  As such, your complaint is not going to get any traction - it won't even get traction here.

There is a lesson here - please learn from it....
