This is a case of chase "sucking" me in to a zero percent-14 month credit card offer. The representative assumed "ignorance" of the payment due date and suggested a pay ment date on the 11th of the month. The due date turned out to be the 10th of the month. Payments were initiated for 5 months on the 11th. On may 11th, [ a sunday] BOA followed standard bank practice and paid early with the payment arriving on the 9th.

This was interpreted as 2 payments on the same billing period, and the May 11th payment was never credited on that. I found it in June and the chase manager refused to reverse charges. I immediately closed the account, paid the balence and sent in extra money. But not enough, the minimum payment had been doubled, therefore ADDITIONal late fees were accrued. I figure they got about 259 dollars out of it. I kept throwing money at them and think it is finally over, but I am not sure.

I purused ripoff and have found many similar incidences of Chase fleecing people in the same manner. In my case, the error was "deminimus" and based in part to their misrepresentation as well as standard banking practice. I would really like to see some running dog lawyer take chase down on this. It is extremely predatory practice and hurts us all. It has nothing to do with sound business practice. JP Morgan Chase is a leache hanging on to the body of the American Economy. Beware of Chase. Terry Gross [NPR] reported on this practice recently. Cheers

what?

something doesn't sound right here... first you have either 20 or 25 days from the time your statement goes out until your due date depending on your grace period so there is no possible way a payment that you made on the 9th would not be counted as a payment toward your 11th due date. you have some dates mixed up i believe. also from experience i know that most of the time paying from your checking bill pay they will not send payments on the weekends. in the future you may want to go directly to the credit card's website to avoid this kind of situation. never make your bill pay send the payments on the day they are due. its an accident waiting to happen especially with holidays and weekends.
