This public parking garage uses complicated and misleading signs to state the parking price (the rate). On the main big sign, there are many words of the various rates, but there are no any words of the high rate $5/hour number, which is believed the real rate they want to charge us. The only place at which you can see the rate $5/hour number is a small sign on right hand when you drive in.

Usually when we drive into the garage at the entrance, we pay much attention to the left side -- to push button and draw the time recording card. Plus, we do it in a hurry and don't have much time to look around carefully especially if someone else is waiting behind you, so we are not alert to that.

After we were charged $25 for five hour parking, we called the supervisor David at 415-673-7762 for a communication, which we got from the employee working at the exit of the garage, but his attitude was very rude. He didn't want to listen but hanged up the phone and never picked up any phone calls we followed.

$5.00 an hour is CHEAP for San Francisco

AUTHOR: Sherri - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, May 25, 2003

I used to live in the city, and believe me, unless you pay for monthly parking, it doesn't get any cheaper (except a few places after 7 PM). With my "resident discount", I could park in the garage across from my building for $359.00 a month or $375.00 in the Holiday Inn parking lot on the corner. That is just the way it is there.

Personally, coming from the South Bay, I would take Cal-Train and Muni, if possible. It beats having to fight the traffic and get parking.
