Dear Consumers:
As a client of Clear Debt Results, I am writing to warn other consumers of what we have found to be, a total scam operation. When I first contacted CDR thier representatives made numerous calls offering to sign us up with thier "fool-proof" plan. At that time they all knew where my phone number was and how to use it. Since then, the only fool in this situation has been myself for putting my trust in people who are unable at the very least, to return a phone call, let alone live up to thier promise that I would be debt free within 36 months through thier plan.

I signed a contract to schedule payments to Clear Debt Results totalling $8,365.16 in October of 2006 for them to handle all 3rd party communications and negotiations and to settle my debt for 30% less (or more) than what it was originally over a 36 month period.

We were advised by a CDR rep not to respond to any calls from creditors and that we needed to wait until the debt was turned over to a 3rd party, at which time CDR would send out a "cease and desist request" stopping all calls to us, and they would then set up negotiations with them on our behalf.

We were contacted (PERSONALLY, not through CDR!) by attorneys representing one of the creditors offering us a 10% lower settlement. After many futile attempts (through phone and fax) to have a call returned to discuss this with a CDR rep, one finally called back advising us to take the offer because that particular creditor (in his words), "Does not budge".
We paid it in full on our own, with no help what so ever from CDR.

*NOTE: Please understand that in the meantime, because we had stopped making payments on this account (as advised by CDR), the late charges and interest fees continued to add up, so that the new balance was much higher than the original amount owed! We paid it in full, on our own, with no help from CDR.

Contact from the next creditor came through a summons for non-payment. Thier balance had escalated another $2,000.00 in late fees and interest! Again, numerous attempts to contact CDR through phone and fax went unanswered. When finally reached, the CDR rep told us that the attorneys representing that creditor would not negotiate and that we should just handle it ourselves. I sold personal property and borrowed money from family so as not to have to appear in court and have my wages garnished.

On CDR's original monthly fee schedule we were supposed to have paid CDR $8,365.16. After I made the $14,000.00 payment to the second creditor and threatened to sue Clear Debt, they adjusted my fee to them by reducing it to $6,907.20. An adjustment of only $1,457.96.
We were never offered a reduction for the first account we settled on our own for a much higher balance however.

So at this point I am at a loss as to what services we have purchased from CDR for almost seven thousand dollars! In May of 2007 we received a letter from CDR stating they had issued a cease and desist request on our behalf to one financial group. Maybe that's what we paid for: One letter that accomplished nothing.

On May 1st of 2007 I faxed CDR rep "Robert" letting him know that I was contacted by the 3rd creditor. No respose. In August of the same year I was contacted by "Creditors Financial Group" where the account had been turned over to! It was thier rep telling me that the offer had been on the table for over a month and that Clear Debt said they could not get a hold of me. On the May fax to "Robert" and numerous other communications as well, I have made it very clear that I can be reached at one phone number 24/7: my work cell phone. I also gave him my personal fax number and email address. I asked the creditor's rep how in the world HE was able to contact me THE SAME DAY, THE FIRST TIME HE TRIED at the phone number he called me on, if CDR could not! He had no answer other than to tell me that the negotiations were ending by TOMORROW.

So dear consumers, I cannot relay to you the level of frustration and anguish we have experienced since signing up with Clear Debt Results. As I said earlier, it has been a living nightmare. If this letter prevents ONE person from having to endure the same, then it was worth my time and effort in writing it.
