Colonial Home Warranty salesman contact my in June 27, 2013.  They post they're the first choice home warranty compnay in TX on their website.  I check their price, one year contract $369, and $60 for each service call, price seems right, cause I do receive 2 or more price quote from other companies.  I decide to buy it, before I hand up my cellphone, the salesman said we are living in a good neighborhood, so he can give me a three year contract with the price of $990 and $45 for each service call.  3 years, it's kind long.  Of course, I check with him any catch for early cancellation fees, he said $50 early concalation fees, that's yet.  Ok that's fair, because they will give me $100 restaurant coupons instead of $25 for one year.  Yes, coupons, sounds tempting, they don;t even have Applebee's, Red Lobster, or even fast food.

I signed 3 years contract with them.  My husband still doubt, he wanted me to make sure that only $50 penalty for early cancellation. I called the 2nd day, the salesman answer me that's no other charges. I do a little math over the phone, if I cancel early, there will be $990 divide what ever month I be using, then plus the $50 penalty. He said that is it.

One of my A/C unit can't drop down below 70 in early Auguest.  I'm happy becasue I buy the home warranty, and I just pass the first month waiting period.  Lucy me, I call for service of course $45, the technician said there is leeking in the unit, they need perform a test to see where, and they need verify with the insurance company.  A/C company call me back, the insurance company didn't cover this test.  I need paid $125 form my own pocket.  Ok, fix the unit will cause me a lot, I only paid for the test, I told myself.  After the test, the technician find out the condenser has a hole that cause the leeking.  They need verify with the insurance company again to get proof to replace the conderser.  Colonial call me back, even my policy effects on July 28, 2013, they are not suppost to change any major parts, they only fix things in the first month.  Good new, I'm a good custmer and they want to make me happy, so they said I can mail them the invoice, they will reimburst me the money, no other warranty company will do that for their coustomers.  I end up change the whole unit for $1775 for 3 year warrenty, because change the condenser alone will cause me $900 without warranty and the unit is kind old.  I send them the invoice in Sept 2013, and in Jan. 2014 I receiver $125 for reimburstment, that only covers the leeking test.

I fail my send claim on end of Aug or early Sept, 2013, my built in smooth surface cooktop has one burner can not turn on.  One technician came in, 1 mintue he out.  He said he can fix this, but whom will be pay for the damage if the cooktop breaks when he left it up.  The smooth surface cooktop like glass, it seals down to the countertop.  It's might be creak during the lefting, so he needs verify with the insurance company again。I paid $45 for one minute service.  Second day, I receive the call back from my warrenty company, they will not pay for the damage during lefting.  I argue with them for 45 minute, they should cover this, they said no other company will pay for this kind of situation.  They want to make me happy, they can refund me the $45 service fees.

I call for 3rd claim, the A/C on the attic is drop water, the technician came said the drain from downstair is clog, so the fills up.  He told me, the warrenty company wouldn't pay for that.  Since he came to my house few times, he do us the fevorite, he help us clean the pipe.

I late October, I file my 4th claim.  My garage door can not close all the way down with one press, I need to hold them down until it's complete close.  I thinks it's the sensor problem.  They call me without sending anyone, because they don't cover the sensor, they cover the garage door.  What?  I don't understand, the sensor will cause more than the door.  

They piss me off this time.  Since I'm still wait for my A/C reimbustment, so I didn't cancel right away.  I call them, they still process my claim.  Until Jan. 2014 they send me $125 for the A/C, and I decide to call it off.  OMG, the Colonial Home Warranty customer service told me, since I cancel ealry, I cann't receive the discount rare $990 for 3 year, it will be $1444 for 3 year, where is that price come from, nobody mention that before.  Wait there is more, plus they will deduct all the money they already paid for it during these period. Do you see, I wait patiently for $125 A/C rebate and $45 check I receive before, they're all my own money.  I end up receive $359.54 refund, I pay Colonial Home Waranty $630.46 for 6 months service, and the good thing is "Nothing" been fix.
