Combined Ins The lies never end Mt Laurel, New Jersey

I was a self employed person who was looking for something else to do cause at the time business was very slow.  So I posted a resume on Career Builder and applied for a few jobs just to see what I could possibly get.  I was contacted by Combined and was asked to come in for an interview.  I didn't think at the time it was weird that I didn't apply for the job but whatever.  They gave me the rundown and said it is not uncommon for someone in their first year to make 40-60K and second year 100K plus. 

So I accept and go through all the license training, which I was under the impression was totally paid for and not supposed to come out of my paycheck later.  Then I go out to Mechanicsburg for the other training and pass everything.  Same thing not paid for.  I couldn't believe it when there were guys there who had failed their training 2-3 times and were still there. (High School dropout etc.)  That's when I started to be leary about this place, but whatever I don't have to deal with them. 

I get to my first week and they say "Oh we had to put you in a different region which is an hour to 2.5 hours away from home." instead of the region that was 5 minutes to and hour from me.  I sucked it up and did it.  The guy who was training me was a foreign guy who had been with the company sometime and apparently did well.  So we went out there and hit the streets.  I couldn't believe what I saw.  He was targeting illegal immigrants and selling them insurance.  I don't know much Spanish but from the little I do know these people where thinking the were getting health care not accident insurance.

So after my 2 weeks with him I went out on my own.  The areas we were doing were the Pinelands in New Jersey pretty much.  Very rural and not too many people.  So I was taking these so called leads they gave you.  (Previous and Expired policy holders and hitting them and then looking for anything I could find.  After my first week on my own when I wrote my own 185 paycheck after spending 165 in gas. Yippy getting rich quick.  Oh well I caulk it up to being new.  After 4 weeks of about the same I think my best week was $325 or so and spent about 200 in gas I said something must be wrong.  So I approached my DM and he had me go back out with a manager to see what I was doing and how it could be changed. 

I go out with the same guy and we are trying to "Save someone" who you can tell wants nothing to do with this combined insurance because he was uninformed about what it truly was.  So I shoot all the lines out to try and save him and go through all the speals they teach you at school and it's still a no.  So my manager infront of the customer starts yelling at me about my performance and why I couldn't get him to reinstate his policy.  Yelling at a grown man like he is your child.  At this point we exchanged a few words and get into a argument in the middle of the street.I went back to my car and drove to the office to quit. 

I get to the office and they say to me come back in tomorrow morning after you sleep this off and we can move forward from there.  The next morning I get into the office and they start saying oh well your manager wrote a whole bunch of business yesterday what did you do.  Then they said they will send me to a different region even further away I say no your company is a joke and i give them all their stuff and I leave.  I didn't get paid for my final week there because they said I wasnt there to fill my paperwork out and I got a bill from them for my insurance licence. a few weeks later. 
 
The best is the call 5 month later asking me if I want to come back and work for them.  I told him I'd rather shovel s**t then work for your company again. 

Keep on selling illegals Greg if you're still there.  I'm glad you can sleep at night.
