Comcast Cable called me and told me they were phasing out the current cable box I was using. I called a representative and asked how much it would be to upgrade to digital cable.

I was told that for $47 per month I could get all premium cable channels. I took my box in to the local office and told the lady about the offer the man on the phone told me about. She said that was untrue, a package like that would cost $84.98. She said that the closest thing she could give me was all digital channels plus 10 HBOs for $51.98 per month. It seemed excessive but I was willing to pay it.

I hooked the box up and all I could get was HBOs. I called and asked why and they said all I was signed up for were the HBOs for $14.95 per month. I said that wasn't true and told her what I said I would pay for. She then told me she would fix it. Then I was getting all of the normal digital channels except the HBOs. I called to complain and this time they told me no package like that exists. They told me the $51.98 package did not include HBOs. They did say I could add them for an additional $6.99 per month and the price would increase after 6 months. I said no because this is not what I agreed to. They then said they would have a supervisor call me back in an hour.

After 2 hours I called them back. They said they couldn't do anything for me and that the package I wanted was $62.98. They did offer me a discount for the first few months but I didn't accept because I didn't agree to any of these charges. All I want is the original package I agreed to. Comcast uses tricks to get you to keep upgrading by making you think you have everything.

Take my advice: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CONS, GET SATELLITE OR DIRECT-TV! Companies should not be allowed to push people around and make false offers. The document I signed for this was nothing but zeros in the blanks. Everything about this company is phony! They rip people off. Why would all of these company employees that don't even know each other lie like this?

Comcast does lie, even to good custumers

AUTHOR: Karen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 20, 2006

I had comcast before, and after I moved I couldn't get cable, and had to get another provider. It was not as good as cable, however it was the best for the area. Then I moved again, and luck my for I thought I could now have comcast. I called for set up, and took the special offer for 3 months. All was good for 3 months, and I called to up grade for more channels like extra HBO and such. The next month after I got my bill. It wasn't right. I was to pay 101.00 per month, but the bill was almost 400.00. 270.00 was for the spice channel that no one ordered. Called them and told them no one even order it extra. They told me, with the new system you can order with your remote. I told them, I put a password and block on those channels. They then told me they would take it off my bill. I paid my normal part of the bill and waited to see my next bill which was to reflect a differents. It didn't, again the bill was the same amount as the last. I called again, and told them they promised to removed the mistake, and the bill was to show that corrections.

I ended up talking to the supervisor and she told me they would take care of it. I told her I heard those words before, what guareete were they going to give me, and they told me they would keep there words and that for my inconveince they would also give us extras channels for one month. The next bill came, and again, nothing was fixed, and to had to problems they now had if I didn't even pay my bill at all. I called again, and this time, rudiness was on the other end of the line. I now was a sneaky, liar and if I didn't pay it in full they would come out and get their boxes.

So let me say this, a business is only as good as the people who work for them. Policies, and practices are taught in training, and so I say companies teach employees how to work close to illegal and then pay them to do it over and over again. I myself now decided to go back to school and study law. I believe new laws need to be created to also protect comsumers, for if companies who pratice illegal business procedures, they need to remember, they are in the end bitting off the hands that would feed them.

I have never been lied to - deal I was offered was TRUE

AUTHOR: Erica - (U.S.A.)

I just wanted to say that I have been a comcast customer up until the time my husband was stationed to Ft. Bragg and we have NEVER had any problems with comcast and have always been offered WONDERFUL packages on cable. We just moved from Ft. Meade back in Oct. and we (of course) had comcast there and our package included the digital cable package with alot of xtra channels and the cable internet and all installation and equiptment and we only paid 69.95 a month *unless we ordered movies*. And we got everything the sales rep. offered for 2 years and after 2 years it would go to the regular price. But we werent there long enough for that. Now that we have moved I have realized how good Comcast was to us - the location we live in we have to go through this small cable company and I have been waiting for them to connect my cable ever since Oct. 22nd 2005 and every time they come out to connect it there is always some kind of problem that they need to fix and they never show back up to fix, I have been told that Comcast should be taking over this area because they are buying that company and all I say about that is.... "PLEASE HURRY!" And as for changing from cable to dish, we have had dish in the past and I would NOT recommend doing that.... rain, clouds, snow, wind, even partly cloudy... your channels wont come in and if they do you will have missed frames and black outs, so before you switch I would see if there was someone else I could talk to before I really decided to get rid of Comcast. You can always ask to speak to a supervisor if needed. *also I do not work for comcast - never have. I just wanted to give you my opinion and let you know what WONDERFUL service we have had with them. Almost everyone in my family... mom & dad, aunts, cousins, etc. have always used comcast and never had any "major" problems.* And the minor problems they have had the company was always willing to fix them immediately.

Just as a reminder - this is my opinion so please dont take it any kind of wrong way. Everyone is entitled to express theirselves. And from my experience with them I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks

Because I had been a costomer of theirs for 2 YEARS anddidn't foind out until this week that they Do lie off the top of their heads and make phoney offers! You do NOT get "three months warning"! First I was told I could pay my bill on the 13th of May ( was told this TWICE) and now two other reps said that I couldn't! I had to pay full balance or get the services shut off! I was also not informed about a technician cutting off service on the 5th until I called lastnight! I was not given a new statement no NOTHING! GOODBYE COMCAST! HELLO DIRECT TV!!!!!!

Did you even research yourself? always been upfront about their prices and gave at least 3 months warning

AUTHOR: Matt - (U.S.A.)

While it is ture that they are phasing out standare cable connections for digital and high def, I do not belive your story. I have been a customer with this company since it first bought Sacramento Cable (then AT&T bought them, then Comcast came back).

They have always been upfront about their prices and gave at least 3 months warning if the rates were going to rise. What it sounds like you got was an introductory offer that you were supposed to cancel the service if you did not want to pay the full amount after a period of time. They will not contact you saying that you offer is almost up.

I am sorry that you are upset over the situation, but I do belive that proper communication on your part to the company, and doing some research on pricing yourself, would have prevented it. All thir packages are online with the prices and they have booklets on it at the Pell Dr location too (you should have seen them there). Comcast is a great company offering a quality product. I am quite happy with the sservice they provide for me.
