CPS - Child Protective Services THEY DONT HELP! port angeles, Washington

This is my story and how CPS really does not care about helping reunify your family after they rip it apart. Nor do they look at the best outcome of your child. I have a son who just recently turned one. I will start at the very begining, When I found out that I was pregnant I was living with an abusive man. It only got worse after I told him that I was pregnant. I was able to leave him when my mom came and got me for my grandfathers funeral. After that I only went back to Tacoma for my OB appointments.

When my son was born I would not allow that man in the delivery room, and he made a huge scene at the hospital to where security was almost called on him. 5 weeks after the birth of my son, I made a mistake and fell asleep with him in my bed. He fell off and broke his leg.I was living with my mother who is an RN. I took him to the ER and the doctor there had told me and my mother that it was a greenstick fracture. He even showed me the x-rays. Later CPS showed up as the ER had called them which is their protocol, I believe they had pressured the doctors into saying it was a spiral fracture. *hense none of these doctors are PEDIATRIC* Well ok one of them was, but she had a huge grudge on me. She used to work with my mother, and also when I brought my son home I requested not to have her as his pediatritian. So that right there is a conflict of interest. She also does not work with bones. The other 3 doctors, one is an orthopedic surgion but no where in his tital does it say "pediatric" The other two were adult doctors, none of which were pediatric. So how can they make an honest opinion about something when they were not trained in that field?

So then the CPS worker was very rude and objective to anything my mom or I had to say. He was certain he was going to take my son into protective custody. He demanded towards me saying "you can put him in the car seat or your mom can or i will gladly take him and do it myself" Never having delt with CPS before I was hurt. Having to say goodbye to my 5 week old baby. He did not even give us a chance to give him a list of relatives for that "foster placement".

The next day I was getting supervised visitation with him 5 days a week, I wanted to spend as much time with him as I was allowed. He spent 1 week in foster care then was able to go home with my mother. Where I had to move out, and so did my step-father. He had to leave because of something he did when he was 16 *now being 42* and has not gotten in trouble since. He went and got his record sealed but yet the CPS here still would not let him return home. They kept trying to find new and obsurd reasons. I continued my supervised visitation at her house

They later filed charges on me *the police did* and everything got dragged out for almost a year. Coming close to that year point where they have the option of terminating my rights, I refused to let that happen I love my son way too much. So before I knew what happend my court appointed lawyer decided that I take an Alfred plea without notifying me. I was left stunned, asking myself what just happend. Stupid me. I got 60 days house arrest, and 240 hours community service. But I never actually was arrested nor was put in jail.

Throughout that years time the social worker has tried to pull MANY fast ones out from under us. Such as telling my sons "father" *not sure if he is the father* that they can put him on welfare and give him emergency section 8 housing and benefits. So he can get custody, the commisioner threw that out and my son still lives with my mother.

The social worker truely does not care about the outcome of my son, In my court documents it stated that a spiral fracture would take months to heal and is difficult to treat. But quite frankly my son spent 2 weeks in a splint and healed perfectly. He is now one, started crawling when he was 6 months old, and has been walking since he was 11 months old.

My son got appointed a Guardian Ad Litem, who on my sons benefit sees that he is one hell of a happy baby right where he is, he has been in that house since he was born. Now the social worker is trying to pull another fast one by trying something that does not quite make sence to me or my mother I was told to contact my lawyer about it but he is almost impossible to get ahold of. She is trying to "have a 3rd party custody arrangement" with my mom.

She is trying in every effort to find a way that I do not get my son back. I have done everything that the court has requested I do, I took my parenting class, got my evaluation done. I have almost completed my house arrest. It has been just my mom and my son in that house after CPS made no efforts to try to runify my family. I have court next week and the social worker told me that it was cancelled, but when I talk to someone else it was not. She is trying in every effort to find a way to seperate us for life.

Drugs nor alcohol have never been an issue, I am a fulltime college student, and my mother is a full time RN/OCN.
