After reading Ripoff Report, I see that my story mirrors that of others....

I went to the Curves club located at 3065 Michigan Avenue in Kissimmee Florida on October 9th 2013. I spoke to a lady named Rosa who went over my weight loss goals with me. After "her" evaluation, she suggested I sign up for Curves Complete for $12.95/week. However, the monthly cost was $59.92, she said that was for tax and the months that had additional weeks in them. I was told by Rosa that the only way I could pay was with the automatic bank draft. (However, I now know that they manually ran our credit cards, there was no automatic bank draft as Rosa stated)

On December 2nd I went into work out and I was handed a letter by Rosa. The letter was from the owner stating she would be selling the club due to unforeseen expenses. She reached out to the members to see if any of us would be interested in buying it. She reassured us that she would remain open until new owners were found.

On December 9th just one week later, I am informed by Rosa that they would be closing and that the last day they would be open would be December 21st. Of course my first question was "What happens to my contract and the automatic bank draft". Rosa said that the contract would be cancelled and I would no longer have their fees withdrawn from my account. I was satisfied with her response.

On December 24th to my surprise my credit card was runned by Curves for the amount of $59.92!!!!! I immediately called the club, but their phones have been disconnected, no surprise there.

I called my bank on December 26th and had them reverse my payment and file fradulent card use against the owner. They are now investigating her along with my attorney to see if any other charges can be made against her. hmmmm can you say "breach of contract"? You knew all along you were closing the club YET you still are signing up as many people as possible!!!!!!

When I contacted Curves Corporate and I was sent back a canned reply stating "All Curves franchises are independently owned and operated and any issues involoving the club must be taken up with the club owner" Yeah, the club owner whose phone has been disconnected and whose club is bare? Not an apology or anything from Curves corporate!

I warned any women who are looking to join Curves to stay far away!! These people don't want to help you lose weight, they just want your money!
