Dating Playground - Mogul Rip-off! Fraudulent Credit Card charges! Trying to figure out what victims have in common. Internet
*Author of original report: MBNA removed the charges promptly
I received a $51.71 charge from "dating playground." Never heard of them, never been to their site until now. It is a porn site disguising itself as a dating service.
I have made about three recent online purchases, and apparently they were able to hack in somewhere and get my card number. My only recent charges were:
-Teva sports sandals
-"Musictoday" concert tickets.
-John Kerry for President (don't laugh).
If you made any purchases from these legitimate businesses, then possibly we can pin it down to where they are stealing the numbers from. MBNA was extremely helpful and seems to be taking care of the situation.
Thanks and good luck.

MBNA removed the charges promptly

MBNA America removed the charges in only one week from disputing the claim. I was only on the phone w/ them for about 5 minutes - great service.
I think it is quite obvious that these people obtained the card numbers from the database of a legitimate business, so be wary of using your credit card online.
Also, never use your bank card for online purchases b/c there is no middle man that is going to help you out when stuff like this happens, and there is no out of pocket loss to you.
And lastly, MBNA rocks (as far as credit card companies go).
Good luck to those of you who got screwed, but think on the bright side, it could have been much worse.
