I am an Ex CRG agent of Boise Call Centre. We At DirecTV provide the auto renewal as a way to save Valuable Customers the 5 minutes on the phone to renew such a wonderful package that since its an renewal comes at a significant discount as opposed to a Customer who has never had it before and gets on board  a few years later. 

As I have to deal with Customers  who don't want it the next year i always suggest to the customer  a month before NFL Starts to call up and take a few minutes to call us up and request it be taken off at that time. 

Now i know tyour such a busy person that even  to go to the store to buy some beer or anything is so time consuming five minutes on the phone is all it takes a month before NFL starts it of course we are going to re sell the value of the programming package such as NFL Sunday ticket cause after all think back to how many games you got with that package as opposed to what you get normally and tell me that that is worth nothing. Mix NFL Sunday ticket with one or 2 DVRs in your household and think of how many games you get recorded. every night is a night for football. 

I am not a fan of Football but I will say this I like NFL Sunday Ticket as it gives me an excuse to invite my football friends over to watch and have a great time. My friends  bring beers  snacks and such and when it comes down to beers and stuff I have a rule no beers leave the house so if they do get pulled over  there is no chance for open container. My friends don't mind one bit  if they leave some beers at my place . just gives them another excuse to drop by and such. 

It really comes down to someone having the note up to  cancel a subscription and asking nicely. Bear in mind for a few minutes many call centre employees  for such places like DirecTV gets many F-Bombs dropped on them . An employee gets told they where a F***ing Liar cause of this or that. A little kindness goes a long way in my books. We DirecTV CSRs are paid to help a customer make a well placed choice in programming and other things cause it helps you in the long run. 

Here is something to think about. How would you like to pay for each game individually on a Pay Per View rate at 40 bucks a game. DirecTV can do that but along that lines lets say yopu move  from one city to another and your favorite local team is not covered in your basic package and its  sit in the comfort of your own home and pay for each game ( not sure how many games are played by a team but i bet  its more than 12 games ) so you pay  for your PPV  team at 40 bucks  for  12 of them games  thats 480 dollars  for ya games. Now you said it was over 500 dollars  they charged on your bill for NFL Sunday Ticket . that is an out right lie

Now here os something to digest as well. as a auto renewal there is a 30 dollars saving on that package  so instead of a one time payment of 300 dollars breaks that down to 270 and if you did a breakdown of payments  thats even better. It sounds like you have a one time payment and maybe you had your reviever  hooked up to a phone line finally  and got charged for some PPVs as well so before you spout off slanderous lies about 500 dollar bill with DirecTV i would check your billing and as a self care option with DirecTV we do off you the ability to check your Billing online at DiredcTV.com. you can change your packages , add or remove movie channels order PPV's online and manage your account. So you cant say we do things without your knowing. Your Statement can be viewed at anytime 

Yes NFL Fans Beware we at DirecTV offer you a 30 dollars savings for  keeping your NFL Sunday Ticket. thats the cost of 2 or 3 cases of  beer on DirecTV . You are so very welcome
