After the Dish Network contracted installer left our home he charged us $84.04 for etheral cables and wanted a check which he cashed immediately. We are seniors and we feel we were taken advantage of. not only did he take our $84.04 but he cohorsed my husband into giving him our two recievers and satellite dish wheich we had purchased years ago but did not install them when we moved for our other home. I was under the assumtion that I was receiving two DVR recievers and when he left found that on ly one DVR reciever had been installed.

When I called the company they said I was only entitled to one yet the contract reads two max. WHen I questioned that they said there is a charge for a second one yet that is not in the contract. They use the contract as referrence only when it is in their favor but disregard what is written to favor the customer.

While it is not written about the extra charge of $200.00 they say that is what they charge and that is it and then if you do want another DVR reciever they will charge you an additional $5.98 per mo. for it even after you pay $200.00 plus the $7.00 monthly charge for the extra reciever. They pile on charges at their will.

When i subscribed for this service I was told my total monthly bill would be $54.99 and I specifically aske would it go up after a year and I was told NO. Yet in reviewing my statement on the internet I was charged $86.99 a month. It was like an octopus that they attached so mnay extra charges and it boggles your mind.

They should be held accountable to not advertise free installation and package fees and then after the fact add all these charges to your account. Please beware they are crooks and they have staff that will stonewall you every time you call and they never listen to legimate compliants they merely read from their scripts. "Mam this is our policy" Mam read your contract and you never get satisfactory results and they leave you completely frustrated. In addition, I live on the west coast and I specifically asked if they were still broadcasting some chanelles in east coast time and I was assured that my favorite programs would be seen on Pacific Coast Time and now that I have it all the programs that are improtant to me are all scheduled in east coast time. I like Hallmark & Lifetime and both of these comes on in at 6 pm here and I like watching movies at 9 pm. They lie they will do anything to get into your home and cause havoc.

Installation for TV programming is free, but if you're adding IPTV (Internet protocol TV) by using ethernet cables, there is an installation fee of $39.99. I'm sorry if this contracted company failed to inform you of this. Honestly, DISH has constant problems with contracted agencies, and it's best to order through DISH directly. As far as the equipment goes, you were given one DVR because DISH has dual-tuner DVRs. This means that one receiver actually works on two TV's. This is something else that should've been explained to you. This actually works in your favor because if you were to have two receivers, you would pay leasing fees for the additional receiver. The fees you described are upgrade and leasing fees that every company charges for additional equipment. With DISH Network, your first receiver is free. If you were to add on additional receivers, then yes, you are subject to an upgrade fee, as well as the monthly leasing and DVR service fees, if applicable. Here's a breakdown:

Upgrade fee(1 time fee) leasing fee(monthly) DVR serv. fee(mthly)
HD DVR dual tuner receiver- $199 $7 $5.98
HD DVR single tuner- $99 $7 $5.98
SD DVR dual tuner- $99 $5 $5.98

As far as your monthly bill goes, I can't really answer that because I have no idea what you've subscribed to. However, when the prices do go up, it's usually by no more than $2. With a more than $30 difference, you're subscribed to a completely different package than you were initially quoted because there's no way they'd jack up your bill that much.

DVR 625

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 25, 2008

here is what you should have gotten. a dual tuner dvr 625 unless you wanted an hd dvr. then it would have been a vip 722 . the dual tuner is 2 receivers in one. one tv would be setup on channel 3 or 4 and the second tv would be setup on channel 60. if the phone line is connected to the receiver it would save you 5.00 dollars a month on the second half of the dual tuner. the ethernet cables are for connecting the receivers to a high speed internet router. the installer would use the ethernet cables instead of the phone line. only if the customer didnt have a home phone . or if the customer wanted connected to the router. the installer would had to have run a cat 5 cable from the receiver to were the router was. i dont know what he could have connected them too. i love the dual tuner cuz i can connect them in such a way. that the customer can watch both channel 3 and 60 in either room. plus you can replace the ir remote with one that is uhf. then you can control the tv 1 receiver form anywhere.just like the tv 2 remote. i got a customer that i installed a vip 722 and a dp 322 in the living room. but she can go anywhere in her house and watch all 4 receivers from any tv. plus she can control them from anywhere if she takes the right remote with her. if her husband wanted to watch 4 sporting events he could do so from one tv. she might have something to say about that. on your old receivers . dish network would have given you 5.00 dollars credit on your account for each one. plus sent you the shipping boxes at no charge to you. i dont know the whole situation but someone should have told you about the dvr 625 or the vip 722........i would call someone and ask them why you didnt get that receiver .
