I was impressed with Dr. Blanks credentials, however most disappointed after I met her, my wife was instructed to see Dr. Blank from our general physician, what a mistake, Although her academic performance is impressive, her interpersonal skills and follow up is less than stellar, and don’t forget Patients are customers, they are what keep you in business.  My advice, find another doctor…   

After receiving basically an upper GI, and my wife was still somewhat sedated. Dr. walked into my wife’s room (recovery room) and shook my hand and walk over to talk to my wife, never introduced herself, I only surmised this was the doctor, could have been any of the staff.  She proceeded to talk directly to my wife, and quickly dismissed any of my comments, so I shut up.  Days later I asked my wife about the prescription the doctor said she ordered for her, she had no idea, figuring as much I had already picked it up from the pharmacy.  After almost one week of continued suffering, having to call hospital on our own to schedule an ultra sound for which the doctors staff was unable to call and schedule an appointment as expected.  After no results from the ultra sound and no returned calls from the doctor or the office, I instructed my wife to contact the doctor’s office once more, If we did not hear back from them I was taking her back to the emergency room that evening.  Around noon after talking to my wife I made a call to the doctor’s office, and talked to one of the staff workers who indicated the doctor was busy, she indicated she would give the doctor my message.

Upon my return home from the office I asked my wife to get ready to go to the emergency room, but she was on the phone.  She said it was the doctor’s office and they indicated they wanted her to take another test (hydro scan or something like that) and if we were not contacted in two (2) days we should contact the testing facility to make an appointment (really, if I could do that I would need the doctor).  My wife indicated she was still in pain, the person she was talking to, informed her that if she was in that much pain, she should go to the emergency room, they were busy helping sick people… Really…from the time my wife had seen this doctor, none of the medication prescribed worked, my wife was is pain for more than 1 week waiting on the doctor. 

I took my wife to the emergency room that evening, explained the situation to the emergency rooms doctor’s that although Dr. Blank is associated with the hospital, if you bring her into the hospital to look after my wife, we will leave, I do not want to see that doctor again.  The doctors agreed after our explanation and indicated they would provide a list of other physicians to follow up with.  The doctor and nurses on call that evening where excellent, very professional, polite and ensured my wife was comfortable.  Although the diagnosis was the same, different medication was prescribed, and my wife was feeling better the next day.

Since then we have found a new physician, however the bad part about all this is the money has already been paid, try to get a refund, probably won’t happen, although some of the cost were legitimate as a result of the upper GI, however this goes as a warning to others in the Rockwall Texas Area.  If you are told to go to DHAT in Rockwall, indicate you do not want Dr. Blank, or her staff.
