Scammed By The Emarket Research Group

Are you one of the many who has signed up for various promises or services with the promise of a nice gift? In my case a Sony DVD camera or IBM Laptop? (There are a variety of different offers)

Well I went for it thinking I would be a "product tester" after filling out a short survey from the page I quote:

"After you complete the evaluation process (such as completing a short user survey), the product is yours to keep free!" -only to learn they try and snag you into not "two" services or products but six with deceptive practice of hiding this in the "small print" of their so called Terms of Service! Here is the actual e-mail sent to me advertising this:

http://emarketresearchgroupscam.150m.com/index.html

I for one have filed a complaint with the FTC at www.FTC.gov and plan to notify the sponsors of this scam!

Here is the complaint I have posted with the FTC:
On November 12, 2004 I received an e-mail from the address emarketresearchgroup.com = 208.48.182.44 {Same IP as ExpertSavings.com) offering a Free Sony DVD Handycam with the statement "Product Testers Wanted" and on the same page that I have all screen shots saved for says, "After you complete the evaluation process (such as completing a short user survey), the product is yours to keep free!" From there you fill out the survey then you are REQUIRED to choose two products from a web page, then another two and one last page for two more. The last page is another catch, you have only three choices a direct TV service, Discover Card and Premier Credit Card (for Premier you are required to make a $149.95 payment). ---If you cannot complete the process of two of those three items you do not get the camera you discover later if you find their Terms of Service. The cleverly put those last three offers that may be difficult or impossible for some to complete on that last page!

I signed up for four services or products on the first two pages but the last one is impossible but it is all grossly misleading and a con, there is no statement that I would be required to make ANY purchases after I filled out the survey!

If you were suckered into this scam, you are not alone! Take a look at the following link for others in the same boat or worse:
