EAX Worldwide Total Scam San Deigo, California

Worst freight broker - they steal your freight; then refuse to release it unless you pay an exorbitant rate.

Our freight was incorrectly released to them at a tradeshow, when it was supposed to go with a different broker who quoted us $346.00 through the tradeshows preferred LTL carrier.  We received an email from EAX Worldwide stating we now own them $900+ for them handling our freight.  We immediately contacted EAX Worldwide and told them not to move the freight, it needs to bill to another broker they advise that is not possible, it is already in transit and they cannot remove it from the truck because it is a consolidated load but they will look into our pricing. 

They refused to provide us any tracking information or tell us what carrier the shipment was moving with.  Finally a week later after not hearing from them, we called again asking where our freight is and why we still have not received anything - they advised it is at the destination terminal and being held until we pay them.

Come to find out this freight moved through a common LTL carrier which cost $161.00 through any normal broker.  That carrier inspected the shipment and found it weighs 565 LBS, but EAX Worldwide is charging us for 746 LBS.  They have now discounted our invoice to $600..They are a broker, not an asset based carrier, all they have to do is call this LTL carrier and tell them to bill our preferred broker and not them anymore.  They have no claim to these freight charges and they are refusing to have the billing changed.  This is a complete scam - DO NOT PAY THEM ANY FREIGHT CHARGES!
