Elance ripped me off for several hundred dollars. I attempted to use Elance services to hire a web designer. When I did the web designer failed to complete the job that I posted and kept lying about time frames. After several months of BS I contacted Elance regarding the problem. Elance completely ignored the fact that this thug from India, T3 Services did not do what was requested and stole several hundred dollars of my money. When I asked for a refund they said " we can't refund payments already processed." 

Elance could easily refund the money but because they get part of it chose not too. There was zero question that the work had not been completed. Elance is a highly disreputable firm that exercises no oversight of its employees and contractors. They also don't care if you receive what you order, they simply want to make a fast buck by outsourcing jobs. If you do a quick search for Elance scam in Google you will see hundreds of similar stories. Stay away from Elance, they are nothing but internet gangsters trying to rip you off.
