Elite Sounds ripoff maroon chrysler minivan guy with goatee Addison Illinois

I was approached in the parking lot of Menards in Mishawaka, IN when 3 guys in a maroon chrysler approached me and gave me the shpeal. I said I wasn't interested and started walking away. The driver (6', 250lbs, goatee) said, "Wait, let me pull over and you can take a look at them." Immediately I thought it was a scam.

He opens the back and sure enough, 3 sets of speakers. He says they are worth $1200 a pair and I say that I've never heard of them. He shows me the magazine with a picture and price in it. He tells me that a guy just paid $700 for a pair and pulls out a huge wad of cash.

I offer him $200 and he says $300. I tell him I won't go any higher than $200, so he says $200 and "some beer money" because him and the other 2 guys he was with were going to the titty bar. I say fine, we load them into my car, he gets in with me, we drive to the ATM, and I give him $240. He wrote me a receipt from Elite Sounds in Addison, IL, and made the receipt out like I was making a last payment on them. The indicator should have been when he said, "I'll give you 2 copies of the receipt, one to send in with the warranty, and one for taxes or whatever." What the hell am I going to do with speakers on my taxes? Write them off under the dumbass deductable?

I hope that I see these guys again because I carry a pistol on me, and I would love to ask for my money back politely, have them tell me to f*** off, and then take all their cash they have on them. That would make me smile. I am not a violent person, but these guys pissed me off. I guess I got what I deserved thinking that I was basically stealing them from somebody else.
