I was looking for a dating site that offered services for professionals.  I believe I registered with "Over 40 Dating", which ends up  becoming elove.com.  There is a short online form to fill out, and though you do NOT have to provide a credit card to request information, you DO have to provide your phone number.

Within minutes of registration, I received a phone call.  Someone who sounded to be in her early 20s (based on language skills) began asking rather personal questions.  I stopped her and said, "What is the cost of the service?"  Her canned answer was that they will provide that information when you go in for a 1:1 "interview" to determine if you are "good enough" for their membership.

Because they would not provide the price for their service, I had no interest. Thereafter, I continued to receive phone calls from this company.  Each time, I politely asked that they remove my number from their call list -- yet they continued and continue to call.

When you politely tell them you are not interested, or politely say, "Do not call me," they ask questions and make comments that are as unprofessional and shocking as it gets.  Here is a sample:

"What's the problem? Are you short on money?"
"I thought you wanted to find a man? Apparently you don't."
"No wonder you're still single. You clearly won't do what it takes to find a man."
"If college kids can afford this, I'd think a lawyer could pay for it easily."
"Why don't you want to fall in love?"
"We can't give you a price over the phone, but if you are serious about finding someone to marry, isn't it worth your time to come in for an interview?"
"You said you were serious about finding someone to marry. How do you think that's going to happen for you?"
"We're professionals. We only work with quality clients who are dedicated to finding love.  You probably wouldn't qualify anyway."

If I receive one more phone call from these people, after repeated requests for them to remove my number from their list, I will definitely take the next step and file a formal complaint.  They are breaking the law on top of being completely unprofessional and ignorant.

Be VERY careful if you choose to give them your phone number.

I neglected to include the business name "VIP Singles" in my original report.  I am STILL getting calls from "Tiffany" with "VIPSingles.com" from the number 913-206-6379.  This is an online dating service that has local "brick & mortar" offices across the US.  They are registered in Nevada as a corporation.  I've filed formal complaints with the BBB, the FCC, and the No-Call Registry.  So far, though, the calls continue...  I don't know if it is just this one particularly overly-aggressive and rude salesperson, "Tiffany", or if it is a company wide problem -- but there's no way to contact these people to complain to a supervisor, etc.  I've since learned that their fee for "personalized matchmaking" is $5000 or more, and from what I've read, they have no standards whatsoever when it comes to making that "VIP match".  For example, you might be matched with an unemployed smoker who is morbidly obese EVEN IF you specify non-smoking athletes who are financially secure.
