Purchased 32" LCD TV Model LC320EM9B from Walmart in Jan 2009.  In Dec. 2009 began having problems with it.  It would turn off with no picture and not sound and only the green light would flash continuously.  Afraid to leave it on - don't know if it is a fire hazard.

Called Emerson customer service and they said it had a 1 year warranty so it was out of warranty and I would have to take it to a repair shop.

I paid $450.00 for this tv and shouldn't have to pay for repairs after one year.

Have researched and find many, many , many complaints about this brand of TV.

In addition, Walmart won't do anything about it so they are jsut as bad.  They are selling defective products they know will breakdown in a year and have to spend more money to replace it.

We, our friends and our business associated don't purchase Emerson/Sylvania/Funai Corporation products anymore and we don't shop at Walmart anymore.  We now shop at (((competitor's name redacted)))!

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Buyer Beware

While i generally don't recommend extended warranties, you could have purchased two additional years at Wal-Mart for about $40.  Your TV has the same warranty a $3000 Sony or Panasonic would.  You chose to buy price instead of quality.  The best brands have repair rates in the 2-5% range - which includes the first year.  Wal-mart's return policy is pretty liberal - don't blame them.  Sometimes things happen.   You could have also purchased a Sony, Samsung, Vizio or Panasonic at Wal-Mart, too.
