I placed an order online with Tvboxsets.com on August 14, 2007 for the Bob Newhart complete dvd sets. I was charged $179.99 which included shipping. I received an E-mail confimation with with the delivery date of August 29 to September 1. When I noticed that it had not been delivered, I started to do some investigating and noticed that I never received a shipping confirmation or a tracking number. I went to their website and 90 percent of their DVD offers had been removed including the one I ordered. I sent E-mails that have not been answered. I tried to call them, but I am unable to reach the. Their recording says: Leave a message and we call you back in 48-72 hours. After reading someone elses experience , I realize that this is fraud.
I have contacted my credit card company and will file a complaint with the Canadian better Business Group.

Do not buy anything from the Empirical Media, dba Garcia Group. Web address: tvboxsets.com.

Yup! They changed the billing company!

I guess all the complaints are having an effect on them.

They switched billing from Garcia Media Group and SXR.CA to PC3SUPPORT.COM which according to the domain registration and the pc3support.com is an offshore, billing service.

My guess is that Garcia et al were getting to much heat. Perhaps some Canadian authorities were getting nosy.

Now the billing is off shore so BUYER BEWARE!!!

I need to follow up on my post from yesterday. I called my credit card company and the process in in place. I will call back today and cancel that card and get a new number assignment. Who knows what these scammers are capable of doing.

As I said, I have written several E-mails and have tried to call several times. I have never left a message that, according to them, will be answered within "48-72 hours". However, there was a message on my voicemail from tvboxset.com (that's all that was said), informing me that all orders are delayed for 2 weeks. If I had any questions to please call the number I called when I left the message. No phone number. (??)

First of all, I never left a message. I have to say, they are pretty clever.

Also, when talking to my bank, the bank transaction country of origin was "Mu". After doing some investigating, I found our that this was coming from the island of Mauritus in the Indian ocean. It looks like this is a global scam.
