I got a letter from this company almost two weeks ago and it stated that i had rented a vehicle from them on april 30, 2014 due to a loss. First thing I did was send an email to the email addresses provided and then during normal business hours I tried 4 different times to call them. First try I managed to reach someone and i then proceeded to give them the claim number I was calling about and then told them that the letter was also to nicole davis and that was my maiden name and i hadnt used that name in almost 16 years nor had i been out of the state sinse my brother lived in north carolina and that was at least 25 years ago. The man then told me hold on i will transfer you to someone. I held on for a couple of minutes then on the other end i heard the phone ring like 15 times then i got a busy signal and then silence. Well I tried three more times to phone them to no avail. So then I sent another email and still have not heard anything back. I told them i intended to place a fraud alert on my credit because the amount they were asking for me to pay was crazy anyway and i didn't want that non payment to go on my credit in a negative way when i didn't create the bill to begin with. It totaled almost $1,000.00. They were only giving me 10 days to even submit the payment in full and they had said if i preferred i could make my payment using a debit card, or credit card or directly from my bank account at the following website: claimtopay.com which is not even a secure website. The whole thing just really seems fishy to me. I refuse to pay what I do not owe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like ID theft

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, August 26, 2014

Pull a copy of your consumer credit reports. It sounds like someone has your ID info. Then go to FTC(dot)gov and read up on what to do for Id theft.

One of the very first things you should do is file a police report. Read up on what to do when you have been a victim of ID theft and follow the steps exactly.

Once you have the police report, then send a copy to Enterprise with a letter. You may need to have an attorney help you because Enterprise doesn't play by the rules.
